Jack Henry + Kolo not avail next week.

Blitz to come back in for Jack Henry... Stanley will need to back it up verse a guy that normally monsters him in ROB.

Good to have Mannagh back in.

Maybe Ollie Henry out for Wiltshire.

MOC to start... Wiltshire or Clohesy sub.

While there were a number of moments where the Demons could have cut us open if they were better skilled by foot, a win is a win and the changing of the guard is nice.

Delighted to see SDK play well in defence, and Dempsey get up the ground winning the footy.

I'd like to see Neale just making more contests, but he is still developing as a young tall at this point.

Don't want to give those other kids false hope!

I'm biased but Lindsay will go pretty close to winning it if he's back from injury quick and plays the whole year.

Connor is a gun though.

Glad we didn't give that game away. Something is terribly wrong with Melbourne.

Something has been wrong with Melbourne for years it's called the coach and the culture.

It's irrelevant anyway because his knee can't go every week. He's going to be here and there. The question is if we make finals can we somehow nurse him through a month then so sdk doesn't get flogged in the middle.
Possibly, though by that stage SDK may legitimately be the better option. I'm not keen on having Blitz, SDK and Stanley in the one team, particularly if Kolo is back.

Not sure Stanley can back it up off a 6 day.
I would have picked kreuger if he was on the list.

Not sure there's a spot for Wiltshire we are overloaded with the high fwd type and clohesy doesn't deserve to be dropped yet.
What we need is a bigger bodied pure mid but other than Stevens (who isn't fit enough to run a game like thus out) we don't have it to come in.

got to love the new players. COS and Humphries very important in the backline. For such inexperience. And of course Smith is critical if they shut Holmes out.

And we need to shout out Dempsey game. I get the criticism of flying for the marks too much but it gets him in the game rather than just running into space and no impact.

His stats can’t be ignored.

Highest contested possessions for the Cats (second on ground to Oliver) with 13.

Again I accept the criticism that he avoids contact but he does it a different way and to get 13 contested possessions from the wing which included 5 clean clearances (equal MOST for Cats) and 6 intercepts (3rd most for Cats) shouldn’t be ignored.

That goes along with 8 score involvements and running 15km (just behind miers) - 2.7 at high speed - and highest number of sprints on the ground (26)

No doubt his first 3 games have been down but need to give credit for this game.

I'm not against playing them all but Stanley doesn't have the capacity every week I have no doubt when we talked him out of retiring again that managing the knee this way would have been the agreement (which is why he hasn't played til a late change). But come finals I think we try and get Stanley in unless sdk improves as a ruck A LOT.

I think he's gonna have to.

We will find out soon enough.

Culture, yes. Coach, I'm not sure - but their depth has completely dropped away.

They should have gotten rid of Oliver ages ago, and the May/Melksham (was it Melksham?) fight was not pretty.

But it's having guys like Tom McDonald and Ben Brown fall off a cliff, and losing a number of bottom-six players plus Jackson and Neal-Bullen, that has really hurt them.

Dempsey is/will be an absolute gun but he's lucky he's in this era. His refusal to go hard when it's his turn to get crunched to help a team-mate means if it was 2000 he would probably get delisted without playing a game.

Brad Johnson said that Jez would not be satisfied after the game but would feel better that he got the ball a bit more and got more involved.

I'm a bit amazed that Jezza had 2 more possessions than Danger, given how Danger used his to great effect, comparatively speaking..
Jezz said earlier in the week that they'd trained the house down, and he personally hoped to do better. I've seen him come off saying I played like shit, and that's admirable, if only for his own motivation and reality. With O Henry out of sorts, I wish they'd run Henry downfield more, make him run and defend, (share his brother's weetbix and find some touch) and let Jezza stay back (find more touch).

I say coach because their forward half inefficiency has been this bad for years. And yet they keep drafting guys like Langford Lindsay (and i love him as an IK kid obviously) tholstrup Jefferson etc who while they are good players don't actually address the issue. So either the coach is asking for the wrong type of player or list management isn't doing their job.

The culture is toxic and the Bartlett stuff even before Smith and Oliver and petracca showed it.
