That is correct.

300 games for the Geelong Football Club, represented Victoria 8 times, all-australian, club captain and two time best and fairest... John 'Sammy' Newman.

60 minute rule:

I topped the Geelong goal kicking, crossed to another team for two seasons before returning to Geelong. I topped the League goal kicking in my first season for my new club and the Geelong goalkicking in my second season back. Who am I?

That would be Lindsay White

Out of the eight founding teams of the VFL, Geelong is the only team never to be have been held scoreless over two consecutive quarters, while we have managed to inflict on the opposition on 9 occasions two or more consecutive scoreless quarters. The last time, a few of you will remember was against North on a particularly wet day in 1980, when North failed to score after half time. This remains one of my most cherished matches that I have attended. However, Geelong have only once held the opposition to a scoreless first half, against whom, when and where did this take place?

This could be one to refer back to Every Game Ever Played for the answer. Any clues as to a period of time, pre war, post war??

Hmmm, it was sometime during the period between the sacking of Rome by the Vandals and Ray Card's retirement. Hope this helps!

From Every Game Ever Played...

1901 - Round 7:
Geelong... 4.5, 7.7, 8.10, 9.11.65
South Melb... 0.0, 0.0, 1.1, 3.4.22

Ok, next question...

What number did Shayne Breuer wear at Geelong??

One hour rule:

In last year's controversial win over Carlton, David Clarke kicked the ball to Peter Riccardi, who goaled after the siren. Who got the ball out to Clarke?

60-minute rule... I'll keep this fantastic thread moving right along...

Another "nickname" question: Whose nickname was "Scratcher"?

Found this out last week when I was doing an interview with Dunnstown's playing coach Paul Aikman, who's from Geelong originally, so I thought I'd save this question for the thread. :)

That would be Robert "Scratcher" Neale

That is correct, Robert Neale was a fast and skillful wingman who ended up finishing his career with St Kilda.

Affirmative, Neale's the correct answer.

For the record, Aikman was telling me the story in the context of his first game in the GFL, and playing against Neale as a bit of a baptism of fire for him.

In 1969 Doug Wade was the first player to kick 100 goals for that season. Who was Geelong playing when Doug kicked his 100th goal?
