I dont think we will win TBH it doesnt phase me as logn as we remain competetive. I'm more interested in seeing the youngsters getting a go.

Who Cares, lets hope we can beat Geelong but if not oh well. I'm more looking forward to seeing us beat Collingwood in Round 1, yes we've let Collingwood come away with too many wins at AAMI and thats unacceptable. But we usually play them better in Melbourne so its time to get them back and get off to a good start this season.

This will be " a learning experience " whether good or bad, well, we'll see. I would like us to win, if only to continue to watch them on telly, I'm starved for football.

Its called early morning start at 04:30am, people in Victoria have jobs to goto;)

We have jobs here too, we are all helping fill the Torrens lake by using jugs of tap water from home. Its a bugger not spilling it when standing up on the bus from Royal Park though.:D

I think it would be best if we just experiment in the NAB cup this year, as last year all the other teams had worked us out pretty early after all of our NAB cup exposure

We did allright in the first 3 months of the regular season, and i dont really think the MMC had much effect on losing a few games in row after that.

Geelong are slow starters to the season. Port nearly beat them in Round 1 last year.

Having said that it will be a tough ask, especially given the lack of form in All Star game.

Walker's debut should be the best news from this game.

So do people in Adelaide, and most of us aren't baggage handlers. :thumbsu:

Anyway, I think we'll lose this came comfortably. I'm hanging for the game though, looking forward to my first footy dose of the year.

Ripped from afl.com:

Adelaide has named Trent Hentschel in its 29-man squad to prepare for Saturday night’s NAB Cup opener against Geelong Cats at Telstra Stadium.
Hentschel’s likely return from a serious knee injury will be the headline news but the Crows also named the untried Taylor Walker, Jared Petrenko, Rory Sloane, Myke Cook, Aaron Kite and rookie Brodie Martin in the squad, still to be cut to 26.

The squad also includes a number of players with only limited AFL exposure, including Brad Moran (10 AFL games), Jarrhan Jacky (three games), Andy Otten, Patrick Dangerfield and Chris Schmidt (two games) and James Sellar (one game).

Hentschel has not played for the Crows since August 27 2006, when he badly injured his right knee. After missing all of 2007, he returned to football last year and played 10 games at league and reserves level with SANFL club Woodville-West Torrens but was frustrated by hamstring problems.
Adelaide trains on Friday morning from 10am at Max Basheer Reserve.

The squad is: Gill, Moran, Reilly, Thompson, Griffin, Edwards, Jacky, Doughty, Shirley, Walker, Mackay, Sloane, Vince, Johncock, Maric, Knights, Otten, McLeod, Stevens, Kite, Sellar, Dangerfield, Petrenko, Cook, Goodwin, Hentschel, Martin, Schmidt, Bock.

3 to be cut to take the squad to 26, of which 24 form the team plus there are 2 substitutes (where the player they replace cannot come back onto the ground.)

The 3 to miss IMO will be Sloane, Martin and Schmidt.

Interesting that Armstrong didn't get a gig in front of 2 of his fellow rookies after his Darwin perfromance - or is he injured too??

And your news on McLeod and Edwards??
