Australia squad - MJ Clarke*, SR Watson, DT Christian, XJ Doherty, PJ Forrest, RJ Harris, BW Hilfenhaus, DJ Hussey, MEK Hussey, B Lee, CJ McKay, MS Wade†, DA Warner

Sri Lanka squad - DPMD Jayawardene*, AD Mathews, LD Chandimal†, TM Dilshan, HMRKB Herath, KMDN Kulasekara, MF Maharoof, SL Malinga, NLTC Perera, KTGD Prasad, KC Sangakkara†, SMSM Senanayake, WU Tharanga, HDRL Thirimanne, UWMBCA Welegedara

Will Watson open with Warner or be pushed down the order? Which two will miss out?

Keen for this one, Sri Lanka have been in good form. Hope we get to bowl first for once!

Pitch is apparently much less grassy than it was for the Hobart test.

Watto will replace Ponting at number 3 I reckon, no need to disrupt the Warner/Wade opening combination.

Would like to see that. A Watson/Warner combo would definitely be entertaining but not a good way to start an innings.

Hopefully they start Watto out of the opening slot and it's a success so they don't need to keep thinking of him as an exclusive opener.

EDIT: Clarke won the toss, we're batting (again), Watto is 12th man :(

Sri Lanka's side is unchanged, we have Clarke in for Ponting and Harris in for Starc

12th man? The **** is this. Why would they do that, foxing...for no reason.

Pretty disappointing of Kevin Rudd to schedule a press conference at 2:30pm AEDT, this is why John Howard was way better, if he was ever in the same situation he would've scheduled it for earlier in the day.

Good enough for me. Vote Gillard!

If he is trying to get the 'people power' support, this aint a good start...

Today might be a bat-off between Warner and Forrest, to see who stays in when Watto comes back. I doubt they'd want to leave Christian out at this point.
I reckon Warner is the one more in the firing line, Forrest has looked a lot more composed this series than Warner. You are also right about Christian, he aint going anywhere.

Whether Forrest does well at three today or not, I reckon Clarke's squibbed it a little here.

This was an opportunity to say, "I'm the sides best batsman and I will take responsibility for steering the innings at first drop".
