Haha, yeah, true :p. They'd probably find a way to keep the golden child in though.

That said, I like Warner and Wade a lot and I really don't like seeing this mini-slump. Warner should be dropped for Watto just to send a message that his ODI form isn't cutting the mustard.

Forrest is looking good though and I always have faith in Clarke. Just would have liked to see Warner at least smash out 25-50 rather than prodding it around at a 60SR.

Ponting dropped, our greatest ODI batsman of all time, while Warner continues to suck it up?
Get over it. He's turning 38, on the decline and as such, it was a good decision to leave him to the single (and most important) format.

Forrest is impressive.

warner will be kicking himself if pup is putting them over the fence
At 60m sixes, no less.

I don't think Warner is aggressive enough in ODI cricket. Just play your shots IMO
Yeah, he's such a good T20 player he should treat it as such. I think playing tests has his mind a bit stuck in-between.

Definitely. He's got no idea how to approach 50 over cricket. In tests he has the luxury of being able to pick his shots and uses the abundance of gaps in the field to his advantage. In T20 he just goes for everything, which comes off a fair amount of the time.

Giving him some time off to sort his game out would be useful, especially with Watson coming back in.

Is Warner the next Michael Slater?

It was inexplicable that Slater didn't cut the mustard in the 50 over format.

Warner may wind up as a curious beast who plays test and 20 over formats but find the right tempo for the version in between.
