He has scored three half centuries so far when coming in after our top order has done nothing.I think his doing a superb job :thumbsu: Don't have to make 50 in 30 balls. It's not a 20/20 match. He has time to set up his innings.
I said it's fine at the moment cause he is playing according to the situation but you can see that he struggles with a few key aspects of ODI cricket.

We showed in Brisbane that we don't have to be travelling at 5-6 an over for most of the innings to post a good score. It's about keeping wickets in the sheds and building a total to a point where the middle and lower order can have a licence to open up.
It's the way ODI's have been played traditionally, though the last few years they've been producing concrete pitches that lalow batsmen to go helter skelter from the start. The pitches just seem to be a little more bowler friendly this summer, which i like, we shouldn't be having 300+ scores every game.

Nothing wrong with 250-280 scores being good enough.

I don't understand why people get angry when players take a bit of time to settle themselves. Granted he needs to work a bit more on converting some dots into singles, but Forrest seems to be setting up his innings really well to me. And has been this whole series.

The way he values his wicket even in ODIs suggests that he will probably be very handy in Tests too.
