Read this on Footygoss:

Fremantle coach Chris Connolly says the Dockers' inconsistency this season is due to a lack of cohesion between the senior playing list and the younger members of their squad.

The Dockers are in 12th place on the AFL ladder, having won only five of their 12 matches so far this season.

Connolly said he felt the younger players at the club do not have the experience to communicate with their more senior colleagues on the field.

"We think Michael Johnson, David Mundy, those type of players, are going to be terrific into the future but they don't have the experience to build chemistry with the senior players."

What a load of rubbish and dribble from CC. This is what he should be doing, taking a group of footballers, who have played football for years and ensure that there is a game plan and cohesion between the players. He selects the players and should know thier capabilities. What does he do for that "superstar" salary that he recieves.

What a second rate football coach and we have three more years of his rubbish and failures to come.

Sounds like CC is taking the coward's way out. Blaming the young players is bull********. It's CC's job to develop it between them and the seniors players, and failing that, the senior players job.

Once again CC has proven that he is a f u c k i n g idiot.

With you here Tico - Have always expected more, especially when we have had the tradition of two great Fremantle WAFL sides over the years with passionate supporters to build on. Football is a culture and way of life in Freo and we have just been served up rubbish by the management.

I fumed when saw the article - now its the young guys fault.

No what the hell are you talking about ? you have got it all wrong, CC is always right he has never done anything wrong and its always someone else's fault. he can take the glory for the wins like a man but when we lose he shuffles and sidesteps quicker than the lord of the dance...whatisname Flatley??

It might be a load of dribble, but short of saying 'I take full responsibility and here's my letter of resignation' he's going to have to talk dribble to get himself out of the immediate situation he's in.

He has to take the blame and he probably knows it, but he's hardly going to admit it.

I dont know, but if any of you have played in a team sport - it takes time to gel together, you get to know players tendencies ie. how they attack the ball, where they're most likely to dish the ball - preferences etc... when a team has been afflicted by as many injuries and you are working players in it will drastically sway the play

wake up - realise that the team has been plagued by injuries, any other team that has been injured as much would be wooden spoon .... brissy n port have gotten their key players back and are showing form as such, we'll have ours back after the break and make a run

support the team for once, you're too quick to stick a knife in the back when we lose but turn when we win...

its part of the game 50% of the time either a loss or draw is going to occur...frickin get amongst it cheer your club

they could vanish n you'd be west coast again!! think of it - no lows..

Too right rickjames. Too much is too often read into the club I reckon, conspiracy theories and the likes. CC's explanation of the young fellas to me is just sayin' the truth. He aint making excuses, jus' explaining the means to the result. I think he is trying to be as transparent as possible, without shooting himself in the foot.
Apart from the injuries and trying to find more consistency, there aint a lot wrong with the team. It's been proven(Melbourne & Geelong) only to be unravelled(need I say).
Rather than knock the team/coach for the bad games, which of course should be be acknowledged, we should back them in to get to where we know they can go, coach included. Stirring shyte now would cause more instabilty in a time when we're trying to find it.
'Tis true, Freo supporters are there own worst enemy's at times.

and i suppose last year was the same?

oh and by the way i have supported the team, you just have to draw a line in the sand somewhere, i am paid up from day one and have been through everything with that team as a supporter so what you say to me is irrelevant regarding supporting my team

I go to the games and you get flustered as much as anyone at how we can play - but all of this negativity doesnt help - i havent seen too many other clubs (richmond?) that turn on their club as much as us- true its because you care/passionate about the club but all that seems to get highlighted is the negatives

Subi has become a morgue in terms of crowd noise lately, part from whats being dished on the field but we gotta cheer the fellas on mate instead of going nana's

I'm not off the CC bus yet. But my book is in the bag and i'm thinking about how far to my stop.

When CC came to freo he didnt rate cookie. Cookie has, by sheer hard work and effort played nearly every game and (imo) will day have an award named after him.

We at BF rate him 2nd to pav. Not necessarily for his skills (as has been mentioned) but for his hard at it approach. In the last 24 hour CC has given bouquets to some of our players in the press. He (cc) has insulted Cookie by not mentioning him as one of our best effort players. Shame CC shame,

I caught the tail end of an interview yesterday and CC said without hesitation to a reporter, regarding the 'slow midfield' comment. CC " I did not say our midfield was slow" there was some some debate about what he did or didnt say.

Did anybody else hear the transcript ?

If there is some follow up I wouldnt mind if some one could post it here. Cheers.

I had a quick through the article this morning and I would have thought that Pav and Cook would have been the first names off his tongue. The 4 listed have worked their butts of, but if Cookie has not been as consistent or better than Bell this season I need to find some more rose coloured paint.

Let's look forward to a positive weekend :-

The "kids" play another solid game.

Polak comes onto the ground angry.

Carr gets on his bike.

Parker runs down ground to kick a goal.

CC has had 3.5 years to wake up himself. We are going nowhere and will not go anywhere with him. This is the reality and he has been given enough time. In my view its time for him to go.

Me too! Just make sure you are there to see it happen Masai.
For years I have tipped Freo to win by 98+ points ;) and when it finally happened I was stuck in bloody Toowoomba with not even a radio feed let alone TV. The best we could do was a score update by mobile phone. :(

It's been such a negative week, that I just like to say, ok Freo is going bad because of A B C. Let's stop looking backwards and see how we can fix things, go forward.

As you can guess IP, S. Parker in my eyes is a legend. Yes some would say my eyes are rose coloured but if we had 22 players with the same pride and application in their game, we would not be discussing this topic.

When he does this deed I will be standing on my seat cheering and laughing as he pushes away his team mates trying to hug him.

Can you just imagine... they all run to him, hands in the air trying to high-five him, and in his hunched shouldered, shuffling kind of way, he'll be pushing his way back through the throngs with an almost imperceptible nod of his head and the slightest of twitches in one corner of his mouth, to take up his position somewhere way, way down back.
I can just picture it - ironically after all the pasting he copped for his flamboyant celebrations after kicking a goal - it will be Our Jeffrey who will most clearly understand Parks' feelings of keeping it all low-key. Jeffrey will run to him, offer him a nod, a wink and a tap on the bum as he runs past.

I think this is the kind of scene you have in mind IP?

Although hopefully without so many despondent players milling around, and presumably with Jeffrey not being in a dressing gown, although Our Jeffrey is always unpredictable. :)

I was inspired to look up Parker's stats, and apparently he has kicked 9 career goals, including 2 in a monster game against Sydney in 1996. His last goal was in 2001, which is further back than most bloke's careers stretch, so we'll all be justified in going off our nuts to celebrate his reaching double figures.

Rather unnnecessary comment I would have thought. But whatever gets you through the night too I guess.

Are you Eagles lot so high and mighty that you would allow us no fun on our own board. Our team is down, so therefore we must all talk in hushed voices and eyes averted? Can we not have a bit of a laugh at imagining the most low-key bloke in the AFL kicking a goal and not going ballistic about it?

Thought you were above that Ex.
