I hearby pledge an end to all hostilities between Hawthorn and Geelong on this board.

As a Geelong supporter I appreciate the fact that Hawthorn have a quality list and I must admit that I enjoy watching their exciting brand of football. I expect them to be there and abouts come finals time for a number of years and look forward to seeing some hardfought clashes between these two sides, and hope that a few memorable finals can be played between these two powerhouses of the competition before the rest of the pack catches up with us.

I must admit, I enjoy watching two Victorian teams set the pace in the AFL, and it is a welcome change from seeing interstate sides dominate year in and year out.

I wish Hawthorn supporters the best of luck for the next few years, but hope that they don't achieve success at Geelong's expense.

From here on in, I will not create a single negative post about the Hawthorn Football Club or any of its supporters, unless they cross the line and take my newfound sense of goodwill too far. I will attempt to respond to any comparison of the two clubs, the players within the two clubs or any criticism of my own club's players in a civil and thought out manner.

I really am sick of the petty feuding between Geelong and Hawthorn supporters on Bigfooty, especially in Bay13, and will do my best to move on. I know that other Geelong and Hawthorn supporters feel the same way as me, and hope that they will respond in kind.

You only have to look at what Oogac has been posting with his heat maps to see what bay 13 can be like. EG : Interesting and funny.

Hawks, Cats, North threads posted by 5 year olds whining mine is bigger than yours. Dead Boring. :rolleyes:.

Whilst this would be the mature thing to do, i am afraid its just not going to happen.

Ever since they won the premiership, Cats supporters have developed a sense of smugness unparalled in the universe. Probabably more so then people that drive Hybrid cars.

Its got to the stage now where Cats supporters get together and have little book club type meetings to chat about their one premiership in 44 years, before they go into small enclosed room, all fart in unison and hyperventilate until they pass out.

We can not ignore this sort of behavior.

West Coast on the other hand... I laugh at all the Eagles supporters up here. You thought you were king shit and then you destroyed what you had created overnight. No Judd and Cousins means no Eagles. No Judd, No Cousins, no Cox means you're not even going to make the top 8. Take your franchise arses out of here. This doesn't concern you.

Mate you've only got the quarter of one eye if you think that there aren;t people as bad as each other from both sides all through last year as the Cats moved towards the flag through to now :eek:.

How about we just leave one thread up for it and merge all the others into there? The old Bay 13 of Bay 13 idea is not so bad after all...

Anyway, does anyone remember what it was like in the real Bay 13? It wasn't about abusing people, it was about besting them with wit and incisive comments. Childish crap like what the OP is talking about would've resulted in a beer shower from all angles.
 
I'm with you Cam.

While the Cats are the current AFL Champs and the Hawks on the up, we should both be excited about our teams success and excited about the future.

Teams like Carlton, Richmond, Collingwood, West Coast (haven't these tools been quite lately???) and Essendon are getting off lightly while successful teams like the Hawks, Cats and Roos attack each other.

I'm prepared to honour the ceasefire - as long as we can direct our vitreol towards someone who deserves it.
 
Count me in....no more hand bags blah blah blah....Geelong supporters are our friends.........but we still maintain a healthy rivalry for our games without the vitriolic crap that goes with it sometimes...:)
