Note: It is my intention to write stories and opinions on the numbers, but later. First, I am putting in one place the information I'm collecting, with threadmarks to make it easier to find. Meanwhile, I have been adding commentaries and curiosities to some of the posts.

All this info is already available to anyone, but WILD available as much as wide. I thought a compilation such as this would be helpful to those interested on the subject.

For instance, did you know that the 5th place had reached the GF 4 times and won all of them? That the 2nd place, despite having fewer GF appearances than both 1st and 3rd, has won the flag the most? Or that the Furies have played in 5 more GF than the Bombers, but they both share the same amount of flags?

I didn't, but now I do. I'm using the league's 30th season as an excuse to share it with others.

Please, feel free to add stuff or to comment on what I'm posting. This thread is not about me, but about the SFA. It's mine as much as it's yours.

Enjoy!

Grand Finals
Grand Final

Considering all SFA's 29 seasons so far:

I. the most common Grand Finals have been:

- Seeds: 1st v 3rd, 7 times (1st, 4 wins; 3rd, 3)
- Clubs: Demons v Furies, 3 times (Demons, 2 wins; Furies, 1)

II. In multiple GF, these are still unbeaten:

* Seeds
- 4 wins: 5th (4/4)
- 3 wins: 2nd (v 4th); 5th (v 1st)
- 2 wins: 2nd (v 1st); 4th (v 1st)

* Clubs
- 2 wins: Roys (2/2); Bombers (v Furies); Bombers (v Hawks); Swamprats (v Bears)

----

GF Appearances:

*Seeds

- 1st: 16 times
- 3rd: 13
- 2nd: 9
- 4th: 6
- 5th, 6th: 4
- 7th, 8th: 3

*Clubs
- Furies: 11 times
- Wonders: 8
- Demons: 7
- Bombers: 6
- Hawks, Swamprats: 5
- Dragons: 4
- Bears, Gumbies: 3
- Roys: 2
- Warriors, Hurricanes, Titans, Magic: 1
- Royals: 0
- No team has ever played in three consecutive GF. The Demons has a shot at being the first in S30.
- The Furies have never been more than three consecutive season out of a GF. It can happen for the first time in their history, if they miss the GF in S30.

---

GF Wins:

*Seeds

- 2nd: 7 times
- 3rd: 6
- 1st, 5th: 4
- 4th, 6th: 3
- 7th, 8th: 1

- Highest: 13 times
- Lowest: 16
Most of those "highest-seeded team" losses are by the Minor Premiers. In GF without the team 1st on the ladder, the best team during the minor round has advantage: 9-4.

*Clubs
- Bombers, Furies, Wonders: 5 times
- Swamprats: 3
- Demons, Dragons, Roys: 2
- Bears, Gumbies, Hawks, Hurricanes, Magic: 1
- Royals, Warriors, Titans: 0

* S12

Sim's Fairness
I have more numbers to throw around, but anyone is free to post others as well.

Mobbs, the only conclusion I have made so far is that your program is fair.

I'm not sure if any other Bombers have mentioned it either this season or last, but the people running the sim are crooks :thumbsu:

Poor Royals
All I got from this is we should all point and laugh at the Royals.

Oh, wait.
If I was in the Royals I’d be having a good hard look at myself

No one does that in the comp anymore. Not since El Dubya got nuked anyway.

What has happened to this league, bunch of marshmallows

Timeline and Wins (Clubs)
SFA-Clubs Timeline

- 27 different clubs have played in the SFA, with 25 of them having played between S01 and S09.

- One club was absolutely fake and has played 2 seasons: AFL AllStars (S07; S09)

- The extinct club with more seasons played is the Titans/Team Kournikova (S01-S06)

- The last club to fold was the Mod Squad (S10)

- It was from S11 onwards that the league has found stability: first, with 8 clubs; then, with 10 in S16; and, since S18, with 12.

- The 8 clubs that have managed to consolidate the league are: Wonders, Demons, Furies, Bombers, Gumbies, Roys, Dragons, and Hawks.

- Two clubs among the founders are still playing: Wonders; and Demons.

- The founding club BigFooty Dragons is unrelated to the current existing Dragons.

- There was one merger, in S08, between the Dragons and the Southern Sharks. The Southern Dragons have played until S16; then, since S17, the club has once again been called as the Dragons.

- Three of the current clubs have had an interrupted history, with seasons away from the league: Roys (S09-S10); Swamprats (S08; S10-S15); and Bears (S08-S17).

- The league's youngest club is the Warriors (S18); followed by the Royals (S16).

What happened to El Dubya? Saw they won a B&F with us early on then threw a smoke ball on the ground.

What is a Beez?!
he's proving he's the premature ejaculator of Beez whores
You can get the Beez and shove it into your Arze, for all that I care...

What is the point of this thread?
It's pretty much described in the title, really. [It still is, but now I have put a note in the OP to make it clearer.]

The SFA is going to its 30th season, and I'm acknowledging it. Others may be interested in participating. They are all welcome.

If no one else is, that is also fine. I'm doing this because I want to. It's enough.

Where's the media though? Just looks like a copy+paste from the Archives and Sim Info threads. If you're going to do the numbers, at least add some media to it.

You're welcome.

You're re-posting all of the stats that are widely available to not only the league but the general public.

I'd love for you to write some media about these stats, but at the moment you've just copy and pasted archived stats.

Don't worry. I am just warming up. I have changed the OP. It now explains what's going on.
