Oh. Well the roof will be shut. It will only blow through the gates.

We're stuffed for the year. So many injuries, and so many spuds.
I can't see it getting much better. Ross isn't exactly someone who had had to go through a list rebuild. I can't see him suddenly changing overnight on that.

I reckon Ross can do it, we just should've started a little earlier. Some of our young kids are looking great. Weller's been super consistent (and pretty), Blakely looked like Mundy II tonight, and Alex Pearce has been destroying forwards all year (until they destroyed his leg :'( ). If we had Sandi, Fyfe, Johnson & Bennell fit all season we'd be looking a lot different. Even our backup defender is injured ffs. And our international rookie. And 2 of our 4 draftees.

Oh yea the rebuild shold of started last year. Hard decicions on some players should of been made at the end of last year. Might have to start trading a bit to get a few draft picks up your sleeve.

For some petty reason, bitter Saints fans have a bee in their bonnet about Ross Lyon, you have to remember he was never actually asked or being put in a position to rebuild a footy club before, even if Freo don't win a game next year, it's 100 percent certain that RTB will be coaching The Dockers next year, your board (rightfully) has backed in him, you'll get Cam McCarthy at the end of the year (your second round pick and steak knifes should be enough)

I would suggest you might need to trade out Stephen Hill and try get another top ten draft pick.

Freo's situation isn'tas dire as you'd would think. You've been smashed by injuries. Don't think you blame Rosco for that, nor the fact that Freo's kids they have drafted in the past 4-5 years really don't seem ready or up to it yet. I'd back the Dockers under Rosco to get their shit sorted and play finals again before basket case clubs, like Brisbane or Gold Coast, at any rate.

Hang in there, Ali :)

Nah Freo are stuffed for the next few years I reckon even if they get McCarthy who isn't the superstar everyone is making him out to be.

They'll also lose Pavlich at the end of the year and it remains to be seen whether Fyfe will get back to his best after his broken leg or whether Bennell will ever get on the field for them.

Back in Melbourne. Sad to kiss bye to the warm weather of Hawaii, but happy to be home with my feet up on the couch.
You jinxed Carlton by coming back, they were winning while you were away.

Trading out Stephen Hill would be about the stupidest thing we could do. Still young, still a star, and trade him for a kid that might have potential? We need to build players up around Fyfe, not post-Fyfe.

I don't think we're stuck in a long-term hole or anything. This year is going to be brutal, sure, but next year once our older players are fit, and our younger players have some good experience into them, we'll have a good one again.

I trust Ross. I wouldn't call what we're doing tanking, because I don't think our role players in Peel are our best team - they're just more experienced. For yesterday's game, with the players we've got available, the only player that should've been in that wasn't would be Barlow. We legitimately lost that.

You can't really blame us for being conservative on our injuries too when the risk to benefit is so high. Fyfe was never playing this year - his injury was pretty ruddy serious. Johnson's got a fair few niggles so if he's going to play on next year, having a long rest will be good for him. And Bennell will be a great player for us for a long time. He's hurt his calf 3 times since coming to the club. If we can fix him by resting him for the rest of the year - why wouldn't we, when there's 0 chance of us making finals this year.

Pavlich should have retired at the end of last season, so it's not going to make a significant amount of loss when he does give it away. Not going to get involved with all unsubstantiated rumors about Bennell, only that I sincerely hope that he makes a good fist of things at Freo from next season and beyond, he is too much of an elite talent to be lost to the game.

They have a strong coaching staff and the culture seems right at Freo, and that's something they have going for them. They'll get something good for Lachie Neale as well, whom unfortunately is looking to transfer to a Victorian Club ...

Unfortunately, it's much harder for teams to rebuild like Freo, Carlton and your Saints, with all the shitty draft concessions and access to gun academy kids the Northern Clubs are getting (at least 3 of this year's top 10 are going to GWS and another Northern Club)

I actually feel bad for Freo, they worked so hard to try and win that elusive flag, and now they are being penalised for all those years of hard work/getting their act together, by a few years in the doldrums. But I am convinced Ross is the man that can turn things around, some creative drafting and trading wouldn't go amiss.

He expressed how he's looking forward to roving from Sandi's taps next year. If he's still in contracted in 4 months, then I'll start to worry

I am struggling to keep a lid on my anxiety at the moment.
Had a panic attack on the plane yesterday and feel terrible today.
Oh no, I feel your pain Mebby. I actually had acute anxiety yesterday right before the footy, in fact i was outside Etihad Stadium at about 6:30 pm and was going to go home, I was feeling like i was going to have a horrible panic attack/felt really unwell.

Happily i managed to tough it out and once I got inside and chillaxed at the Live Wire, I felt a lot better and although still felt a bit uneasy for the rest of the night, I was glad i stayed and watched the team, despite getting flogged by Norf. I actually also bought a 5 pack of Juicy Fruit Gum and bottles of water which actually did help a lot (went through 3 packets of the chewy at the footy :D)

I missed several Home games for Melbourne City last season, because my anxiety reached pretty horrible levels during the summer.

Got a lot of empathy for what you are going through, look after yourself and really hope you feel much better soon :)
