Agree, a good fish and chippery in your neighbourhood is gold. The BEST BEST f&c ever used to be at Sorrento quay in Perth..good lord it was amazing. i’m talking people lining up for 100metres on a Sunday.
Some one told me that city based f&c places use manufactured and shaped deb chips?

Take the money and run. I keep finding bush lemon seedlings coming up in my yard
Yea I’ve nurtered them for so long its hard, and they are not rare trees or anything. Just used them for many parties drinks etc so there is attachment. Nurseries charge $100 for a little stick of a tree so these people want something established for their garden..they will go to good homes and I can replace them and nurture new ones.
I love finding cheap run down plants and bringing them back to glory, like renovating old furniture..it’s very satisfying.

We'd drive for 20 minutes to a chippery near Mum when we were kids. Run by an old British couple. The chips were an inch and a half thick but fluffy in the middle. Amazing.
Also you can't beat home made chips and roast potatoes from freshly dug up potatoes. The taste is different.

Absolutely, everything from the garden is different, can’t compare it to shop bought rubbish

Up our way we used to buy bags of spuds in honesty stalls at spud farms. Now they all seem to be planting avocados, and we have to buy dear ones from fruit shops. I reckon there'll be a spud shortage soon
I read an article recently about year round produce, I think spuds and carrots specifically was destroying our soil
I remember when fruit and veg was seasonal in the supermarkets and out of season fresh wasn't an option

Ooh thanks for the tag. I haven't been in here for a while. There was like 10 pages to catch up on! Remember when 10 pages meant you were offline for like an hour.

What I learnt was pineapple is awesome, I have the same fixture-highlighting system as Pakenhamsaint and you're heaps better than me at growing lemon trees. My strawberries are going ******* nuts though.

Where is that garden thread you talked about Woosh? And is there a car thread? I could talk your socks off about cars and mechanical stuff
Ooohhhh car things!!!

I only have 3 too because I only have pot plants on a balcony. But they've grown loads in the past couple of weeks and already have a heap of strawberries growing. I also have garlic, chilies, sage, mint and parsley out there
