Can somebody please post the starting times of the four grades during the day?

Am not sure myself but have been told that the seniors must start at 2.05. Our seconds at learmonth have played 15 minute quarters at times due to the u/17's being more important and are usually running late due to the league not allowing enough time during game intervals. Ie: U/15's finish at 10am and the u/17's start at 10.... This just cant happen due to running on the ground and warming up, meaning the juniors are roughly 5-10 mins behind, then at the end of their game they lose another 5-10min while the 2's warm up. 2's are seen as least important and im sure other clubs have faced the same dilemma. Since the seniors have been cut by 20mins + per game, Im sure something can be done about it....

That has gone under the radar. Dunnstown were very happy with the draw at the start of the season. Does the draw go in cycles as to who gets the home games or is it drawn up each year trying to be fair?

im not a 100% sure but i think it goes in cycles .They might get ten home games but there draw is tough waubra and daylesford twice

The draw continues on from the previous year and they create a new draw every 5 years. What is the deal with Bungaree playing 4 home games in a row?

Your thoughts on McIntyre & Archibald? Both boys were offered $500 per game to go back home to St A, and both declined.

My mail is that McIntyre has been approached by AC Milan for a trial. Rumoured to be getting a lot more than $500AUS a game from what I hear. especially after u take into account the exchange rate! It was supposed to be a package deal with Archibald but apparently a recent hand injury has impeded his side line throws. Customs were also making things hard for poor old T bag.

And they'd want to win everyone of those 4 games and the next 5 after that if they want to feature in September action. Bunga are in all sorts if they loose to Springbank this week, it's a very long way back into the top 5 from 2 and 5. Coach Reid has a lot to worry about.

Another senior CHFL coach in trouble with the police - Saturday night i believe i saw a senior coach - of a team which had high hopes for the season but has failed to perfrom, urinate in the Ballarat nightclub area and being questioned by police?!!

Has anyone else noticed the lack of knowledge the new Courier reporters have? In regards to the report on D'ford v Beaufort:
- Josh Cowan sustaining an injury in the warmup and not being able to play(happened in the first minutes of the game and came back on later on)
- Young Chris Frith playing his 1st game of the year (He's 28 and played last week as well)
- Tom Reeves with an impressive debut (he has played all games this year bar one, and played every game last year)

I'm sure they are still learning but it would be handy if they actually wrote about things that were true, instead of rocking up and watching 10 minutes of the game then leaving.
At least Kenny Hill knew about the games and what he was writing about (unless he was givin a bum steer)

So what, just cause they have a tough draw it doesn't entitle them to an extra home game. Hepburn play waubra bungaree and learmonth twice, all finalists from 06. Maybe they should get 11 at home.

It apparently goes in five year cycles and i wood imagine that every club plays the same amount of home games.p.s the mighty bulldogs will be premiers and champions

Learmonth u say we are short down back. i disagree and with big ins to come in shortly including Mann, Atkin and Newton we would definately be able to shut down power forwards. And we have recruited pace wouldnt that mean we will be better on a big ground??

Yeah the game easily have gone our way. Jarrod James was probably the difference. Nichol, Tranquilli & Florance were good all day for Springbank.

What seems to be the matter Threadbo-your not going down the same path as Learmonth and giving Bigfooty the arse after your team gets a walloping are you....I thought u were better than that!

I also thought you were better than the 2 quarters of rubbish that you served up on the weekend Stan. We got a nice little touch up from a far better side. :D

i see what ur saying mate,i rate sam newton very highly and acknowledge he is very capable to shut down any of the leagues power forwards, however i am skeptical about mann and atkin as power backmen, put them up against a brown or thompson im not sure how they would fare, more suited to a rob rodgers type forward

What happens if a team folds in those 5 years thats going to throw everything out of wack isn't it.

haha that is somewhat ridiculous,it seems they do not bother to find out details and make assumptions, its all guesswork haha, ah well

Agree that Newton is a gun. Not convinced that Atkin can shutdown a quality forward - big or small. He had 5 goals kicked on him in last years grand final!

The 4 home games were from round 2 through 5 and they lost 3 of them. They have has a sh1t draw so far but its been no worse than Hepburn's, Waubra's or Learmonth's.

That sounds ok at the moment mate, but you don't have the luxury of playing sides who are not in the five all year. Get over Hepburn & Waubra well and you may have a chance. See you have another massive game this week.

Thats a big call for this this early in the season mate, a couple of injuries and things can change pretty quick. Hepburn and Waubra and will have you covered IMO, but only time will tell.

I dont think waubra will ave much chance now of winning the flag with mcintyre leaving the country and with blokes like archibald and R brown keeping there spot in the senior team. The league must be getting worse down there

nah its not that its going down in grade, its just that the league seems to more be dominated by players rather than teams. Waubra, Hepburn and Daylesford all have key players that no other team in the competition seem to be able to match, bar a few exceptions. Which can often lead to even the top teams lacking depth, or more simply being made up of 5-6 gun superstars that would be walk up starts to any other team in most leagues (bar VFL and AFL), 10 odd quality footballers (that could cut it in the BFL and such like leagues) and 6-8 players that are good footballers but no where near the players which dominate the league. Thus you will see games where a Luke Adams or Danny Liston will get 40+ touchs and dominate while the teams 22nd player will get 20 minutes game time and 2 touches.
