Really ladies, If your going to carry on about irrelavent information like this the thread will lack any credentials. Start posting some important information that people who support the CHFL want to comment about.

As for Dford pumping themselves up, I thinks its majority of the younger kids, from speaking to last years coach, he believes they are still a bit away from Waubra, but are looking forward to the test when they finally play one another.
A certain Bungaree runner is $1200 less off after the game against learmonth on the weekend. The Learmonth -players would like to thank him for his kind donation of 2 Barrells for the long weekend.
Nothing being mentioned regarding Sprinbank, the last few weeks they have been the flavor of the month but have been brought back to earth by the best side in the competition. Are we still saying they will end top 4?

And as for this week, I hope the D'town ground is up to scratch and not a mud bath as it was last season. I am suggesting if its wet and boggy one of the most favored sides will go down this week...hopefully not us at learmonth.... Bring back the drought, I hate this wet and windy weather!!!!

Don't know if were pumping ourselves up AJ, if you have a look back you will see that it is other club personal saying comments like "daylesford are too strong for this league" or making comments about us having not faced anyone of viable competition. While your having a look back you could see some of mine and others comments saying that we are not over confident, we understand we have had a somewhat easy run and look forward to quality hitout with Hepburn,we know where we stand,i am fully aware that we wont know exactly where we stand until we face the Hepburn and Waubra types, rash comments suggesing we are pumping ourselves up is way off target considering it is a known fact that since the instatement of this blog you have done nothing but talk up your own club and your "gun" recruits.

thanks doppelganger, haha footy is nothing without passion mate ur not wrong i suppose that why i got on the defensive when learmonth accused us of pumping ourselves up,hes a passionate man and i have alot of respect for him being an ex-dford boy, anyway as new topic of discussion do you think the CHFL flag is a three horse race? Meaning waubra, dford and hepburn

Quick question for u dforddoggies. I've got a couple of ex team mates playing over with u blokes this season in Jake Pring and Jack Savige just wondering how they're travelling? I've seen Pringa's name in the best a fair bit and I understand "Hammer" has been getting a bit of a run on the ball.

hey mate yeh both going quite well, pringa is a great asset to run on and off the ball and in the forward line, great pace always manags a sneaky goal or two, yeh jack sav has been great as a second ruckman to ox winduss and doubling up as a key backman, strong mark as you would know, both very team orientated guys

Yeah mate, bote of them eat footballs for breakfast. Very handy pick ups for you blokes

Yes it looks that way at the moment. The other sides need to find consistency against the good sides to be a threat. Springbank pushed Hepburn and were smashed by Waubra. If these sides are to give themselves a realistic chance they have to back up and push the top sides every time. The 3 top teams are the only ones to do this consistently for the last 2 years. Upsets will occur but i don't see at this stage anyone else in the race !

yer it looks a three horse race just maybe learmonth could pull of an upset win in the finals springbank will proble make up the five but i dont think they have the dept to beat the big 3 but with tranquilly and nicolls up forward come finals time who no's.My moneys on daylesford vs waubra GF . will we finally see a good game at the Northern oval

You're telling me...been on the other end of that passion a few times (???!!!!)
'Tis looking like a 3 horse race but if the Lakies get over their injury woes they will be in the running. No guarantees in footy & if the doggies have to play on that voodoo ground at Learmonth finals time they could be in trouble!

Yes Waubra will be in the grand final, hopefully Rohan Brown keeps away from the bakery in the next 3 months, that big mouth of his loves wrapping itself around a pie or 10. The Donald reserves need you back Browny:thumbsu:

I have a new idea, how about we have a lightning premiership (Just like junior days) for all the sides outside the top 3, there will probably be more interest in that since there is only 3 sides in according to everyone?????, and it will give the likes of Beaufort, Creswick and Gordon players the chance of maybe playing finals football for the first time in years.

Here's an idea for a footy trip fund raiser.??? All clubs choose there best drinker, must consume a pot of beer every 3 mins and the last man that can keep up or standing takes the cash... Would be worth $1500..
Who are the best drinkers at clubs..

Learmonth = Paul " Nuggett" McMurry....

D'ford = Gummies O'Brien, Azza Brereton or Ox Winduss (can hold sum grog those three)
Funniest blokes on the piss = Chicky Noodles Frith and Ducky Scoble

Learmonth do think the top three will change? You i believe have the fourth best side in the comp but were thrashed by waubra and hepburn , sides number 2 & 3.
I know on any given day everyone is beatable but i think you would need to play Dford Waubra & Hepburn when they are having an off day to beat them. Chances of Sides 4 and 5 playing finals and this happening is very slim.
Something needs to change to bridge the gap , what is it?

Totally agree, at this stage, the top 3 are well above all other sides, but im not one to sit back and just allow for the season to unfold the way it is. All these sides have weaknesses, and its up to the opposition to ensure that these 3 clubs play on your terms and not there's. This requires a side to be well planned, disciplined, fit and able to stand up when these 3 sides come at you, which will happen at some stage in the day.
These 3 sides are not used to being behind, and usually smash sides, so when someone seriously challenges them and they are behind (pressure) then you may see them start arguing with one another and their game plan start to fall apart with players trying to do too much etc.
How do you get them into that situation is by hard work and self belief, as most sides are technically/mentally beaten before they even get on the ground.
We at learmonth do not fear those 3 sides and though well beaten by 2 of them so far, we will continue to work hard, believe in ourself and look forward to the opportunity of playing them again, and learning from where we went wrong last time.
If you make the finals, its a whole different ball game, and any side that gets 4th or 5th, which is still wide open, may just cause an upset.....
Waubra to em are the less likely side to feel the pressure, the mineral water may affect the other 2 sides come finals time....

Learmonth,

Any chance that you could fill us in with the details from Sobey's 30th birthday? Anthony Hudson told me that Sobey and Veldhuis had a scuffle over a young lady?? Apparently there were parting words along the lines of, "I'm not playing if you're playing next week"??
Definitely ocurred. One ex player got his head slammed into the roller door.

Sobey's 30th was a great night, plenty of good music and alcohol but bloody cold on the farm. As for the rumors floating around, completely untrue, and both will be playing this weekend.
I enjoy reading these stories regarding the Lakies, as chopper said, "never let the truth get in teh way of a good yarn...."

Tips anyone?

Buninyong v Ballan . Ballan in a good tussle.
Hepburn v Newlyn . Hepburn comfortably.
Creswick v Daylesford . Daylesford just.....
Beaufort v Clunes . Beaufort at home.
Waubra v Gordon . Waubra Brown to reach half ton.
Bungaree v Springbank . Bungaree bound to start soon.
Dunnstown v Learmonth . Learmonth to fast, should be a good game.

Buninyong by about 3 goals. Ballan may struggle on the big ground, and from what i have seen of the bunnies, they love the wet.
Hepburn, easily- Cox to kick a bag with Mckay 4-6 goals
Dford, luck its not dry or we could have had arepeat of last year with a score of close to 300- They will still win by 20+ goals
Waubra- As above, + liston to reach 50+ touches
Sprinbank in a close one. Tranquilli will control the back half, and minimise Nicholsons influence, while Bunga has no match up for Nicolls if he plays. If he doesnt, then Bunga by 17 points

As for D'Town's oval, it cant be any worse then when we played there last season, Couldnt see 10 meters in front due to the fog, real danger game, especially if the heavens open up, but there is too much at stake and expect us to get home by 3-5 goals.

Word has it that Jake Harris was sighted training at Bunny on Thursday night and will line up in the 2nds for his first game of the year this week. Jake is now again playing for Bunnies after he lost an appeal to play for Skipton. I hear that he was denied the appeal by the league as "the league cant afford to lose him as he is an up and coming ruckman"

Does anyone else have an oppinion on this. I believe that he will not have his heart in the game playing for bunninyong and they will not be impressed in his attitude to the club. The reason that he wanted to leave was that he didnt get enough opportunity to play senior football, but will Buninyong want to play someone in their senior side that doesnt want to play for the club?

That wouldnt be the correct reason as its an independent tribunral which is separate from the CHFL ajudicates on this. The only reason a player can be knocked back is that he is non financial or that the club looks likely to fold due to not having enough numbers (Which isnt the case). Another reason is if he is a contracted player. If he took it to the VCFL, he would win hands down, and ild be surprised if the Bunnies put up the $5000 as they wouldnt win.

as a strong supporter of the central highlands league and especially learmonth, i was disgusted to hear of the incident invloving Mino Hines. The tool just keeps causing trouble whatever the club he is involved in and what disgusts me even more he has a coaching role within the club. The sooner the club realizes that Mino has a problem with the drink the better of they will be, which only leaves one choice and that is to get rid of him.

Speaking of not having your heart in the game, one of the blokes playing in your team on the weekend absolutely reeked of booze. It does not say much for the state of your club when you allow a bloke to play when he has clearly been on the piss the night before the game.

It was good to see Learmonth get their arses kicked at Dunnstown yesterday. I don't know why there is whinging about the ground, it is in good nick. I think the only Learmonth side that won was the magoos. Their juniors were not much chop. AJ, you didn't seem to do much. You might be tired from all the typing you do on Bigfooty. The Dunnstown players really enjoyed the win and a good night was had by all at the Shamrock and back at the club for the annual Dunnstown Idol talent night. One act was quite funny, it was a rendition of "We are family", quite apt considering most at the club are related.
