Never stated he was a dud, just very overrated! 37 in a season with 2nd best defender isn’t really helping your argument! Haha
Mightve been 1st. Had 3 forwards in that side kick 35-37. Finishing mid tier.
Either way, if nyah hasn't gotten anyone else it'll be all on him and Campbell getting the crumbs.

Nyah are a perfect example of how hard it is to recruit when you are no chance at a premiership and it requires a shitload of travel to a club you have no links to. Like all clubs in a similar position they have to overpay someone to stay competitive and a KPP when you have none is a pretty good place to do so. I think you will also find they are trying to follow a similar path to Woora and recruit locals from the area while keeping all their locals but are trying to stay competitive in the meantime.

Agree with your sentiments in relation to GV footy. Hardly set the league on fire and I am not sure he had many fans when he left. (Was it Mooroopna Mitch? I honestly cannot recall as his impact hardly left a footprint) Pretty sure he wandered around in the KDFL. You would know better than me. I recall reading plenty of negative posts about his so-called 'lack of desire'.

The Nyah thing is problematic. Agree with the posters on here in the sense that the club has to play 'overs' to retain a big bodied forward. Definitely overpaid, but they have to keep the club alive and a big forward offers hope to a struggling rural footy team.

Yeah silver he was at Mooroopna and didn’t really do much by looks of it. Seems to shop himself around and leave a bit of a stench behind when he goes![/QUOTE]

Talking to the Boga Boys and they are really bullish about their chances of making some good improvement this year. Picking up Monfries has created a buzz and they are hopeful of some more announcements shortly if things fall their way.

Also some eyebrows raised with Nyah revealing a Recruit with colourful past. Do some research on Christopher Collins Whispers and tell us what you come up with?

hahaha He would be hard to handle at the Footy Do's or on a Footy Trip! But in all seriousness not really the type to be bringing in and was playing Reserves in a District Comp last year from having a read.

No disrespect to Boga but they would need 10 high quality recruits to push for finals.

It’s a slow build and good luck to em

1. A SERIAL scheming Lothario has been jailed for scamming six women out of more than $80,000, which he blew on failed bets.
Well-known suburban footballer and cricketer Christopher Collins, 28, was given five months behind bars for more than 40 deception, theft, family violence and bail breach offences against women across Melbourne.
He was sentenced at Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court today after earlier pleading guilty to crimes committed in Parkdale, Caulfield, Cheltenham, Dingley Village, Sunbury, Chirnside Park, Armstrong Creek and Point Cook.
The court heard the 28-year-old sportsman had been appointed a coach at Hampton Park Football Club and was a Brighton Union Cricket Club player, and blew the cash on his gambling addiction.
His offending dates back to January 2016, with his modus operandi charming women into putting huge amounts of cash into his TAB account, which he subsequently lost on bets.
He fleeced one woman of more than $40,000, and deceived others of $15,000, $9164, $8930, $4000 and $2500.
The court heard one victim told investigators she “felt manipulated; I regret ever meeting him”.
A second woman said Collins made her “feel like a piece of dirt”.
His defence lawyer said the offending was driven by a significant battle with gambling addiction, and he felt “terrible” for what he had done.

She said Collins was remorseful and he had written apology letters to his victims.
Magistrate Anne Goldsbrough slammed Collins as “probably narcissistic”.
“You had a sense of self-entitlement,” Ms Goldsbrough told Collins.
“You coerced a raft of women into supplying large amounts of money to feed your gambling.
“You have an appalling attitude to women.”
Collins was jailed for five months, minus 96 days already spent in custody, and he must perform an 18-month community corrections order upon release.
He must also pay back $82,000 to his six victims.
Collins has played cricket for a string of suburban clubs, including Williamstown CYMS, Hampton Central, Kingston Heath, St Andrews Footscray, Point Cook and Diggers Rest, as well as South Launceston and Ulverstone in Tasmania.
He had two matches for Brighton Union in 2017-18.
Collins also played football for a number of clubs, including Laverton Magpies and Albanvale.
*Hampton Park stressed tonight that the club never signed Christopher Collins.

Scammer Christopher Collins jailed again after admitting harassing women
A suburban footballer and cricketer recently out of jail after fleecing six women out of more than $80,000 to feed his gambling addiction has again faced court, this time for sending hundreds of nasty text messages to women he was two-timing.

Christopher Collins faced court again.
A love-rat Lothario who bombarded two women he had cheated on with hundreds of harassing texts has been jailed again.
Christopher Alan Collins, 30, pleaded guilty to using a carriage service to harass and persistent breaches of court orders at Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court on Thursday morning.
The court heard the Point Cook man — a journeyman footballer and cricketer who was jailed last year for fleecing six victims out of $80,000 to feed his gambling addiction — continued his double-dealing ways upon release.
In April this year two women discovered Collins had been seeing them both at the same time and called an end to their relationships, demanding he did not contact them.
The court heard Collins instead sent hundreds of harassing mobile phone and Facebook messages to the pair.
Collins sent around 150 texts to one of the women and went to her address and took a photo of her doorstep, which she found distressing.
He sent the second woman 80 messages, and she also demanded he desist.
The court heard the woman agreed to meet Collins in a public place — Hungry Jacks — because she wanted him to return some money she had lent him.
He asked her for more cash but she refused and left.
The woman told police she was upset by the barrage of messages and couldn’t sleep at night due to the stress.
Officers arrested Collins at his Port Melbourne workplace on April 12 and he was remanded.
In April last year, Collins pleaded guilty to dozens of deception, theft and bail breach offences.
In that case Magistrate Anne Goldsbrough slammed Collins as “probably narcissistic”, with a “sense of self-entitlement” and someone with an “appalling attitude to women”.
Collins’ defence lawyer said Collins had “abandonment issues” and took full responsibility for his actions.
She said her client was “on the right path” regarding treating his gambling addiction and was doing well on his corrections order, which he would complete in the next few months.
Magistrate Doug Bolster said Collins’ actions were “very serious offending” but he had already spent a significant number of days in custody.
Mr Bolster sentenced Collins to 77 days in jail — the exact time he had already served — and warned him to not contact either of the women or face a long period of imprisonment.

Look out United netballers!

Seriously though I’m an advocate of people being given opportunities to demonstrate changes to behaviour...god knows I have stuffed up enough over the years. Hopefully the Demons are a good environment for him and there is no issue....but if I were them and there is even a whisper of any untoward stuff he’d be out of there quick smart

Theres a difference btw playing up at a grand final after a few refreshing ales and ripping people off. Im also an advocate of him being encouraged to change his behaviour, but through a different application. Bring back the Biff.

Interesting one.
There's a number of Christopher Collins getting around. This one in particular having a very little past, and predominantly in cricket. And not sure the connection to get him to Nyah from Melbourne with almost nothing since 2016.
What was his capacity at Nyah? Coaching? Playing?
The only Christopher Collins that would fit the bill is the one from Lancefield, who coached and played well at about 32ish, and replaced in 2020 by Tom Waters.
BUT, that is 100% speculation but would make more sense leadership wise with a young group. Nyah certainly need it.

There is nothing saying it is the same person at all, it is just the Herald Sun article pertaining to a person with the same name and may be completely unrelated and innocent of these allegations.
