Ran the health farm for a while but got the sack when another local ledgen Bozzo went in for a week and came out more out of shape than when he went in and stacked on a few extra kilos.

How would they look at the Nullagong Nudist Camp? Hey Knife, what ever become of Geoff Cole, the man with the biggest eye in footy circles?

No word of a lie, the eye was that big the bloke use to piss two streams.. Kept a mean green too did joffa. Where is he now?:D

Leigh Riordan and Jason Dennis back to Balranald. Clearances in. Gee the points system is working a treat isn't it! The league might as well scrap it all together. It fails to limit teams at all. Can Balranald justify the amazing spending spree they've gone on for 4 years now? Is it all worth it? Yes they've won a flag (just) but at what cost?

Could someone tell me how many points Balranald officially get. Do they get a few extra points due to being an isolated club, which i have no problems with?
Is it also correct that Leitchville/Gunbower get extra points which I do have an issue with as these blokes are in the best recruiting position in the whole league with Echuca, Bendigo and even Melbourne not too far away. Good luck to L/G but this doesn't seem equal.

Balranald Lalbert, Leit/Gun, Too/man are all on 47 pts. S/Hill & Tyntynder on 41 pts, L/boga, kerang & Woorinen 43 pts, Cohuna, Koo/barham & NNW Utd on45 pts
I don,t think distance has much too do with recruiting these days, more too do with the $,s spent & on who?

i don't think the league is trying to stop recruits from going to these clubs it is to prevent clubs stealing players from a lesser side to a better side. i will use this year as an example jason kruger at nyah getting BOG every week would have to be getting to spoken from clubs within the league about his intentions for next year. he goes to another club in the league who is in top 3-4 and is worth 5 points to them. it is trying to stop wealthy successfull clubs raping the underperforming clubs.

mind you in my opinion every club should have same amount of points. then the club who wants to pay the most $$$ for a bloke or the club who might be able to offer some success or whatever they use to persuade blokes gets him. when the salary cap (i realise it didn't work) was in place everyone had the same amount to spend. those that could spend more and get away with it did so. the regional based clubs didn't get an extra 20k to spend because they were disadvantaged due to location.

what about each club having a sup list or a rookie list where for example 5 players eligible for colts can be put on this list and they are worth 0 points. would see more young kids getting a go

Good idea, but like the points system where all ex underage players are worth 1 point regardless of where else they have been, including within the league, this favors the clubs that have the largest number of underage players. i.e. they have better talent due to quantity and the law of averages whilst they can afford to play a couple in the seniors as they are not struggling to put a colts side on the ground.
In future years if the points system stays, the strong clubs will be the ones with the quantity of players in the juniors

Wouldn't these clubs be getting more points because they have a smaller population base and therefore need to bring recruits in. Blokes football age (18-28) are more likely to move away from towns such as L/G and Balranald (for employment/schooling/etc) than they are from Swan Hill for example.

We all know where he was going this year if he was allowed. The points for players changing clubs in this league has to go up. The Bucs have got Jacko, Thompson, Brown even Fitzgerald from the two worst teams in the league

Having a location based method doesn't work. How are Nyah are supposed to compete with the T/M's and Balranald's of the world when they have less points to play with (albeit 2pts). I think that a points system could work if it was based on where a particular team finishes on the ladder the previous season.

Eg. 1st - 5th (41 pts)
6th - 9th (44 pts)
10th - 12th (47 pts)

Shoot it down if you wish, but I think that would even the competition up a little. It just seems to me that depth is a major problem of some clubs in the CMFL (hence the lopsided results) and this would help eliminate that problem. Just a thought.

what ever the league decides it has to stick with there decision and not get pushed around by the powerhouse clubs. Time for the league to show some balls....

Depth is the problem because adjoining leagues pay big $,s for fringe players that are usually solid reserves players in CMFL too bolster their vastly depleting ranks and yet refuse to go on any type of system to protect their clubs from non existence in the future. That,s what the pts system is all about, protecting our league for the future.

If you like you gloved idiot I could arrange for you to meet with these fellas for a beer. It might be the most exciting thing you have ever done, judging by the dull comments that you post.

Points System

The points system in the CML seem to be very different to the approach in Sunraysia. Could someone give us a brief run down.
EG What would the points allocation be if you recruit an established senior player from another CML club.

Hillite you need to read back a bit son. If a CMFL club recruits a player from another CMFL club it is 5 points eg Lance Brown Lalbert to Tooley Tang, Sean Bedggood to Woorinen etc
