What has happened to the Full Forward who buggerd his leg at Kerang against Koondrook in the twos is he back playing or still out injured. Play them in a couple of weeks?

:eek: Was in late 30's to wasn't he what did he do for a crust tipping employer not to happy about it all but with footy club insurance should be ok you would think for a bit of help.

Hope he has a run again in the future or if he can still run after that.

Who have Kerang got now up forward seems the wheels have started to fall off a bit since losing this bloke up forward.

What do you guys think of the VCFL's Insurance plan? Do any clubs in the CM cover loss of wages?

it's an absolute disgrace. i think we take the bronze cover which is 50% of non medicare up to $2000 with $100 excess fee. we have a guy in a situation at the moment who is gonna be out of pocket quite substantially due to this policy and the fact that he doesn't have loss of wages insurance, it is up to individual player.
next year we will be encouraging all contracted players to take out their loss of wages cover and it can come out of their first couple of match payments.

:thumbsdown: Not good enough really. The clubs should be responsible for insuring their players while onfield, and if the standard VCFL Cover isn't enough then it should be increased..

its because he wasn't gonna be in their best 22, stop sticking up for him because we all know the reason. you can't go around getting 5-10 touches against the ordinary sides and 1-5 against top sides and hold your spot its that simple. the guy is a 2's player at any of the top 4 sides and that is a fact.

i hope evryone has their gloves for tomorrow, looks like it could be a wet one.

bit hard on the kid.. did you see him play every game? was playing 1's decided to leave and did a favour for filo by playing one more game in the 2's..

The cover is probably not good enough but all players are given the option of loss of income insurance and are stupid if they do not at least take out some form of it. We as players know the risk of playing sport, we are not professionals and we all know where our true form of income will be derived. Country clubs and the VCFL can not be held accoutable for this.

It is a shame when it happens to someone and i am one who has lost out because of a football injury but i was stupid enough to say no to loss of income insurance

well said roota, when i was pres, i suggested to all senior players they should take out private health cover, and have abulance cover. this covers all injuries and hospital. not only that it protects your club from the costs of these injuries. after all unless players are a mercenary we all want our club to prosper don't we.

Spot on Huddo, We as players need to be smart about some of these things. Obviously terrible things happen as i am aware has happened with a young lad from the dogs, but it happens in life in general. Clubs and the VCFL cannot possibly cover everything

while your under oath can you answer me these questions:
1. have you seen him play every game?
2. how did he do filo a favour by playing a game in the 2's, does he coach them as well?
3. did you wear your gloves on the weekend? told you it would be wet.

now to answer your questions:
1. no i haven't seen him play every game. played against him a few years ago when i was still in the league and he was reportedly at his best then with the local rag featuring an article on how well he was going trying out for a SANFL club. this guy isn't even a has been he was a never was, he didn't leave balranald he was told his spot in the side was not guaranteed every week and that travelling home may not be in his best interest and the big head would not have wanted people seeing him playing 2's when he tells everybody and acts like he is better than that. plain and simply he IS NOT.

anyone got early favourites for jack betts? top five?

* b jennings
* r osullivan
* beasy
* parsons
* may

i will go out on a limb (the one with the glove attached) and say no one from balranald or tyntynder can win it. to many vote stealers at both clubs.
O'sullivan (fav)
Jennings
A. Foott
W. Harrison
J.Krueger (if they could win some more games)

Can't think of anyone else at the moment

Then tell the VCFL to Increase it. The clubs can only choose Bronze,Silver Gold or Platimum. And the only difference is the % of payment. The major problem is the fact that the VCFL insurance does not cover any items that medicare payout on.

And that is here the biggest gap is. I was in the same boat Surgen and Anithisst 3500 Medicare paid 1100 so i was 2400 out of pocket which the footy club ins dont touch.

Physio and Room cost 1000

Footy club Ins tips in 1000 - 100 excess * what ever percentatge of cover. i got about 630 bucks back and was out of pocket a total $2770

yes i enjoy watching him play footy and no i havnt seen him play every game.. i think alot of guys like to have fun playing footy and not all try to make it big mate.. clearly he wanted to go back to balranald and play with mates..

clearly its not the way he plays footy, think its more of a grudge you hold.. now that your not fit enough to play footy anymore and worried people might talk about how you never made it big like you have done to this kid..

you have only answered one of my questions so i will ask you the other 2 again:

1. how did he help filo out by playing a game in the 2's, was it so he could bring another one of jocks paid players in and really he felt it was a load of crap and left?

2. did you wear your gloves on the weekend, the slippery ball has a tendancy to slip through the mits on wet days.
why would i hold a grudge against someone i have only had contact with on the field albeit small periods of time due to him sitting on the pine a fair bit. as the great tony grieg once said 'a grudge is simply a place to park your car' and i agree. ppl can talk about any player they want how they want on this site as it is a footy forum. unless you are personally attacking someone as a person then you can say whatever they want and i am only having a crack at him as a footballer.

glove out!

Zoomy doesn't play for fun, he plays for money. He is not good enough to play in Balranald's top 22, he doesn't know the meaning to come and play with his mates, he only knows to play for money. So when told he wasn't good enough to play for money he decided to stay in Melbourne.

Insurance is a worry, i was saved due to the fact that i had private cover also, no out of pocket expenses at the hospital, but still out of pocket with club cover. All players over 30 should have a look at private due to the medicare 1% levy imposed, works out about the same to get private cover. Whether or not players are club stalwarts or mercenaries all should be made aware of what is on offer to make an informed choice and to make sure they are covered for all outcomes.

There is no question to Filo's character as he has shown many times over in this league and prior. The question is also to be throw at the club about holding up there end of any obligations, letting him coach a team he puts on the ground and not be hamstrung or overseen by the bloke with the bucks as stated in previous blogs. If he stays or goes it can't be good for the club.
Would he be missed as part of the balranald midfield they have just bolstered it by adding jason dennis, Shawn would be a more important cog at eaglehawk where his hard work in the centre would bring in the eaglehawk runners, and play with his brother and win a premiership, there would be no coaching to worry about for him either, i think if he goes to eaglehawk they will win the premiership and it would be more satisfying then opening the cheque book and buying every footballer looking to make a quick buck as is happening at balranald

Any truth to the rumour that Kerang will wear a different colour Jumper next weekend just a rumour I heard today out on site..?:confused:
