Interesting to see who is a Toolytang and not. Suppose the unwritten rule is not to poach from within the league, rules are meant to be broken as long as it's not too extreme, we need to be careful to preserve the comp. Regardless who Toolytang have they are on the march at the right time, not surprised that they knocked off the dogs but the margin was huge. Kerang had a crack uptill half time and couldnt go with leitchville after half time, Hawkins was great and as much as i dont like Pollock he was good. Cant see Leithchville going too far in the finals, not the same grunt as the stronger teams, but have done well. Leitchy 2's very slick and move the ball well but not overly physical, if someone puts the pinch on them it might be worthwhile? Swan Hill got knocked off which means the blues would need a minor miracle next week, Swan Hill to get rolled by Woorinen (what the hell have they done this time:confused:) and to win themselves, Cohuna will be itching to get them.
Must be finals time, freshly cut grass and the sun is a shining:)

Good obs JBEE.

Thought Kerang showed some good signs and they do have a good crop of youngsters. Had a good look at them yesterday. Bryce hall was good all, day. Wilson is a good key player. Bott is good but still think hes better down back. Sam Murphy was good, he reads it well. Taylor was hurting Leithville early but went quiet after quater time. Morrison had a realtively quiet one and gillingham and James Murphy did not play. Matheson is likely to stay at Kerang when he comes back from Pioneers and he adds fire power and height. They can become a powerhouse for quite some time and most of it will be built on the back of their junior players. They have plenty of other young talent and with a little bit of experience added to the mix the signs are bright.

Sounds like karang only need a couple of stronger body recruits to be back up the top of ladder, but the biggest challenge will be to keep these young players as when they go away for school or work the travel gets to them after a while. Players from the golden rivers should be looked at with dicko being a sucess this year

Spot on talentscout about the appointment of coaches, i was reading a post recently about kerang and mark loyyd maybe coaching, he would be only 23, 24 surley, wouldnt have to capacity to coach and play its a massive job at such a young age and would need to be fully comitted.. I dont think players or people that take these jobs on realise the comittment that is needed...Your on the mark there...

If i was kerang i would be chasing mark lloyd hard to coach having been a local product. i played with lloydy for a number of years in the bfl at golden square. Great leader on the field and an awesome bloke off it. He is 24-25 yrs old and has plenty of footy knowledge and would have some great ideas after playing in the vfl, bfl and gfl. From my point of view is primed and ready to take on a senior coaching role in the cmfl. From all reports is having a steller year in the geelong footy league with north shore.

had heard they had already spoken to him. Talking to a bloke who knows a bloke that said there is a meeting tonight to decide the current coaches position for next year. Obviously it isn't good if they are already talking to other people. So that means Tierney and Forsyth shafted before the end of season??

The Raiders troops have some terrific talent and Matty Dean is a terrific leader. They seem to have re-grouped a little and keept up till about half time. It is a shame that they don't do a little bit of recruiting to compliment the kids that they do have. From all accounts they were happy to see the back end of Trevor. Not sure why good player and coach but they didn't seem to respect him at all. Can anyone tell me if i am right or wrong here. Didn't Trev coach at the age of 19 up in Roo land?? Jumbo definately pulling the pin at the end of this year he says. What a terrific icon and damn nice fellow to have a beer with.. Can play.

Is this period the first time players has changed sides within the league or was it happening 20 years ago???????? Also the points system was introduced to replace the salary cap, Is it working????

20 years ago one would be alienated from the original club and cop heaps on & off the track, even loss of business was known to happen.Bit different now with the $,s everywhere.
The salary cap never worked anyway,so perhaps this may be the next best option.Give it a chance.Goulburn Valley may be taking it on next year. A rejuvinated system will be adopted for 2008 & beyond with lower pts for all clubs and higher allocations for within league applications. The league needs class players from external to create atmosphere at games.Remember Jeffries with NNW,s premiership? Electric, what a buzz he created.

Ye I think Kerang have always encouraged the GRFL players to come into town and have a crack. No doubt some very good players in GRFL just that the depth drops off fairly quickly. Dicko had slow start but has come good. Would like to see more try out. Would like to see Tim Robinson come in and try his hand. I think all GRFL clubs should encourage their young players to head into Kerang to see how far they can go.

I think Murphy and Taylor are at Uni in Melbourne and both are still playing for Kerang so thats a bonus. Hopefuly they can get others to follow their lead.

Dont know which way the coaching decision will go but they will have to get the balance right with recruits next year.

Not sure about the other coaches named but i hope Kerang have done their homework and make an informed decision.

Can anyone from boga tell me what will happen to N.Quick and R.Pumpa next year, their fantastic careers must be coming to an end. Quick been playing on one leg and Pumpa well we still can kick them but the reaction time must be catching up to him.:D Will they hang up the boots next year or have they re-signed to help org out?

Spot on their updaduff, lloydy is a jet, stocka is another local product that would make a great coach although im sure square would hate to lose him

Can anyone tell me any info on the injury front with Balranald, Tooly/Manag and Tyntynder. Are these sides going to be near full strength for finals? As the race is so tight, this may be the deciding factor in who actually comes out on top in September.

If it is so good why keep changing it If they wernt happy withit last years why are we going to be happy this year are we going to change it again when Labert are cashed up have low points and do a Balranald. Keep reacting and jumping at shadows nothing will work .Dont ever think the points system will stop clubs from spending money on players when clubs are flushed with funds they will spend it on players for success.

Apparently Rick Pumpa holds the record for the most number of goals in a season from when he was playing up North somewhere. Somewhere in the vicinity of 280 goals I was told. Does anyone know if this is true and exactly how many it was?

Its hump day and the lead up to the last of the home and away games for the year, not much of interest this week other than Dogs and Balran$$$. I dont think the Dogs have the equipment to get the Roos, then again? Kerang have started to chase a few ex locals and put the feelers out for next year, no different to anyone else who looks ahead to secure good stuff for next year, got to sow the seeds early. Dont know about coaches, i'm going for Bluey to remain (who knows what might happen with better cattle?) but to have an assistant of some type. I dont know in what capacity the new person will be involved but i think this might be the go. He would need to be agreeable to it if it were the case as it would apear to be stepping on his toes. Someone else posted what other coaches are coming and going, well??

Yes the committee would have the job but the coach surely has some input, which i dont think he would handle very well. Look i dont mind the bloke as a player but he has a long way to go to develop as a good coach, not sure that he is ideal for the job, was going well as assistant, could be a better role for him?

There is still money being spent and if you were the investor ( the club) then you wouldnt be unhappy with the returns. I will clarify the players and get back to you (Parkes and co), if they did a bit more i could remember them all?? Of this years recruits Crawford could be the pick?.
Jambee, so what has changed your mind in regard to bluey champ. You have done nothing but not promote him?

quicky struggling with a knee...apparently he is bone on bone and in need of a replacement. The problem is he still is getting a kick and terrific with the kids on the field. Would like to see him getting involved in a coaching scenerio.

Only Jeremy Barnes who is out for Tooleytang. They seem to be up to full strength as young Barnes hasn't played much this year. Don't know how the other clubs are going but your 100% right. I rekon it will come right down to who the teams have and who they dont come finals.

Yeah Bruce, fair call. However i did state that he wasnt my cup of tea and that he didnt have the cattle on the paddock to help him out, still some communication issues. Maybe i've become a bit soft over the last 4 months but after some consideration i thought that he might get another go to settle the score next season. I believe that he was initially offerred 2 years and I'm sure that the side will be stronger next season. I also believe that with someone (eg like a Filo) around that he might travel a lot better, or at least learn some more.
Quick news flash: Just got a call from a reasonably reliable source, coach has been replaced! Anyone else got any news??

Replaced by who?

Sorry will clarify, relpaced for next season, by who i do not know. Not sure what the go is from there, still 1 game to go this year. Still trying to find out more.
There is no replacement as of yet. Some parts of that commitee need to take a real look at what has happened during the season, we are 6th were/still a very slim chance of finals, there has been no numbers in the senior ranks with the 2s needing to drag every man and his dog to play, then there are those who just have it in for the coach off the field and those morons would want to have a bloody good plan for next year. Bluey gets out the hospital today and yes he keeps the knives!! A testement to Bluey is that he is willing to stay and keep playing at the club next year.

Yes Omar. An absolute credit to himself. Told the players on Tuesday night and they were flabbergasted to say the least. Let's hope he sticks around the Blues and racks up another League B&F. Just so the bozo's who gave him the arse can suck lemons with egg on their face.
