Yeah I wouldn't be too hard on this magpies group.

Aaron young and ah chee are the senior players going through the midfield ffs. Bunch of kids out there today. Just want our young kids to do the best they can and improve and not get drawn down into the usual sanfl bog

Left our run to late is all I can say had to stay in touch better than that good last quarter though with Eddy being our only major beacon up there with three goals

Don't think there will be many changes to the AFL side based off the stats here.

Will watch the replay hopefully soon.

that will depend on how Ryder pulls up with his ankle .. and if Trengove get in trouble for his backward elbow / arm swing in the 2nd quarter

If the SANFL don't change the rules and allow Summo to play every week, do we consider rookie listing him?

A development side needs its captain playing every week.
I suggested exactly that to the brains trust at AO this afternoon

So their strategy for destroying our culture is to hide their home game against us in a time slot where almost all of our supporters will be at Adelaide Oval supporting our senior team in the national competition?
Take that wharfie ferals!

Who knows what their rationale for their 'strategy' is but the destroying of our culture was in conversation about losing zones and juniors. Then above all of this he still said they want to beat Port in a grand final. Odd psychology to disadvantage us as much as possible but feel like you've beaten the best in a grand final but that's their thought process.

Even to the point where we are not allowed to play mini league at half time at Alberton chips away at our sanfl presence. The rules and all is not only about making certain we don't win in the sanfl but we become irrelevant in this league. Whatever they do though these loser clubs will eternally remain irrelevant anyway.

He also said that as soon as we align reserves to the Magpies they'll kick us out. They had this planned more than a decade ago.

The signs were goddamn ominous before I even left the City Centre.

Strike #1: rocked up to Wendy's for my weekly Saturday hot-dog with sauce and was greeted by a monster line-up so I had to settle for a Donut King hot-dog, which was okay, but the tomato sauce tasted a bit funny.

Strike #2: as I ate my hot-dog in the food court, a hot chick from the gym who I've never spoken to before, joined me and just started chatting away like we were old mates. Okay, things are looking up. Then her kids bumrushed the show. Kids? Later!

Strike #3: pressed for time, I couldn't be arsed waiting in another monster line for my free flat white from Rhineland's bakery.

Then Centrals kicked three goals in the first ten minutes, pretty much setting the tone for the rest of the day.

They really controlled the game. Slowed down the tempo when they had it. Were hard at it when they didn't. Just didn't give us any space. Completely cut off our run. We looked lost out there.

The few highlights on a forgettable day included:

- Breddy making the most out of limited opportunities
- Frampton taking two strong grabs
- Dougie's great snap on goal
- Amon's massive four-bounce run down the Aquadome wing
- Big blue at half-time

Brett Eddy is unfailingly polite. Five minutes in, he'd already had enough of his opponent's scragging. And he made sure the closest ump knew about it:

"Umpire, can you watch the holding, please? Thanks."

Not long after, Butch had the ball in the back pocket. Free kick or mark, I can't remember. Anyway, he thought about switching play but there was nothing on. So he just lobbed an inoffensive thirty metre kick down the grandstand wing to no-one in particular.

"Johnny," pleaded his exasperated teammate. "Was was that?"

Pretty sure that Centrals defender posts on here.

Butch was anonymous against us again. Kicked a goal in the last quarter. My mate coaches down at Centrals and says they're pretty happy with him. He must be playing alright against the other teams.

Umpiring was, as you'd expect, diabolical. More the deserved frees we don't get than anything. We really have to earn our free kicks.

Perhaps the most confounding decision of the day was the reversal against Dougie in the third quarter.

He took a strong mark across half-forward. His opponent gave him a bit. He gave a bit back. And the ump took it off him. We're probably talking about five seconds of action all up. Fastest whistle in the west. Bizarre.

Halfway through the last quarter we exploded. Must've kicked four goals in four minutes or something. The crowd was getting antsy, too. But we coughed up a couple of chances to pump it forward and that was that.

So many Centrals fans were keen to talk to me on the way home. They were so keen to impress on me that "Port are s**t," they talked over the top of me when I tried to give the Dogs kudos. Eh, whatever, I let 'em have their "sweet vic. Sweet. Vic."

But at least when I got home the second half of Port v Norf was just starting...

Disappointing to lose but to be honest there are only a handful of players for whom SANFL matters.

Guys like Lobbe, Eddy, Monfries, Krakeour, Young and Ah Chee are just keeping fit in case they need to fill a role.

More important for Linert, Howard, Drew, etc where they can develop their skills and understanding.

Any positives from the game?

Just breezed through the game. Knowing the scores kinda ruined it for me.

Centrals all over us early in the first. We looked liked the 8th ranked side and Centrals the 2nd.

Mid/late in the first quarter was alright pegging the deficit back a bit.

2nd quarter was quite meh.

3rd quarter I didn't bother watching as I knew we didn't score.

Mid/late last quarter we showed some urgency and fight but it was too little too late.

Can't be playing 1 quarter of football and expect to win.

That's our 3rd bad game in the last 5 weeks I think.

Predicting nobody will get called up after this game today + the AFL boys doing well. Eddy will probs be an emergency again.

Okay, well, no, not really, but being really generous...
Arch, Young, Palmer and Amon got a bit of it but didn't do much damage...
Breddy looked dangerous when we got it up forward, which wasn't too often...
But yeah, no-one put their hand up so a good week for the As to win by 70 points...

I've been saying this for a while now but we need to be patient with Frampton, he still has a lot to learn. Hopefully he sees the season out in the SANFL, giving him the confidence in his body before a huge preseason and hopefully an AFL debut in 2018.

Solid return by Amon, suspect he is viewed by the club as best 22 so might not see him too long in the SANFL.
