You do if your guns are backmen.

Or are James Clement, Matthew Scarlett, Dustin Fletcher, Leo Barry and Chris Johnson not guns?
of that lot mentioned scarlett would be the only exception

yes jimmy has been brilliant for the pies over the last two years, but i dont include him in our most valuable players....in 2002-2003 when collingwood were winning games it was because of our forwards & mids playing well

they are

buckley
rocca
tarrant
with fraser & didak being the two younger blokes who i hoped would turn into a-graders

at essendon it would be hird & lloyd
sydney hall, goodes, o'loughlin
brisbane brown, voss prior lynch

ur next post sums it up, rather have a battler ie non footy smart player playing at CHB, somebody with all the physical attributes who can be taken to the ball by the CHF and just punch the bloody thing, tex appears quicker than CC, would be just as strong, yeah an attacking dominant CHB he will never be, but a bloke who can take on the tredreas for body strength & pace he is
A battler does not equate to a completely reactive bloke with zero play reading ability so Tex isn’t the answer. I am happy enough at present to give him 1 more year on the list but our plans can’t involve him being prominent. If he did happen to make it would be a great bonus but I really don’t think it will happen. Until Wakelin came to Collingwood he was considered a battler and most consider Presti a battler.

I wouldn’t waste Travis at CHB unless I already had a gun CHF and I can’t see Rocca standing up to CHF. In any case, I’ve wanted Rocca at FF for a few years. Cameron would be a risk at CHB because he lacks pace but I do think he should be tried there at times just to see how good or bad he can perform there and to give us another option down the track. You never know when you might need to replace a KPP in a GF!

I also wouldn’t mind Travis being given development games at CHB, particularly while we have other forward options, but at this point I see his long term future in a role that hurts teams on the scoreboards which is where it counts. It’s all a bit premature though. He has a long way to go just to prove he’s an AFL player yet.

We definitely need at least one tall in our top four picks, be it a key defender, key forward, or ruckman.

I dont care whether we use pick 5, 21 or 23. It doesnt matter. As long as he's good. Definitely pick 2 for a midfielder though.

we should take kennedy at 2. whats wrong with taking mid's with out next three picks?? we'd still get 3 of the top 20 young mid's in aus :thumbsu:

Ant went to CHB for a while and did a good job and learnt alot.

Played 1 season and we came last. It was his best season to that point admittedly. The bottom line with Rocca though is that he will either be fit or he won’t. If he isn’t he be no use anywhere and if he is he is far to important up forward to contemplate having him chasing the likes of Reiwoldt, Pavlich and Brown around all day.
