Bingo!

people suggesting Harley Scarlett and Milburn as options? Why take away from the best defensive unit in the land when we have proven players already there.

Also i suspect if we see Tomma get much fitter he will play a JB style CHF position.

(Everytime ive seen hawkins at training he has been running)
I agree, our defence need to stay as is.

Hawkins at fullforward. He will be far better prepared than in 07. I see Hawkins as more like Lockett than Johnathan Brown. More suited to FF than CHF.
Mooney at CHF, and if Johnson, Chapman and the other small forwards are in reasonable form, then I am not too sure that Nablett will be missed that much.

I agree with all the previous posts that say Mooney plays CHF so we're looking to fill in the FF position. Although we tend to play CHF a little closer to goal unlike some other sides so sometimes it's not as critical as say St Kilda, Carlton, Essendon or Port. I see Hawkins playing FF and disagreeing with the OP about Harry Taylor. He could find a position on our forward line. I admit that I've only seen highlights of the guy play but at 21 and with 50 WAFL games under his belt the word is he's ready to step into AFL. He's also versatile and can play at either end of the ground by all reports. I wouldn't be surprised if Wellsy drafted him because of NA walking out.

If no Nathan we have no option but Moons at CHF and Tomahawk lurking in the goal square. Not so bad but Tomahawk might struggle over a long season. Hope the fitness rumours are true.

at 189cm, I would be game to try Steve Johnson at CHF
Pushing, Hawkins and Mooney back to the goal square, making backlines CHB non existent, SJ has become alot fitter, can present up the ground aswell, just a thought

The other one I like is Milburn at CHF, he has pinch hitted there before, and with Egan possibly to come back into the side our back half could be over crowded, Milburn can play defensive aswell and will always make their CHB accountable.

Lonergan needs to be more physical, but could do it, but I would rather Lonergan play FF or FP with Hawkins.

Aside from all that Mooney moves around alot anywayz, Goal Square, 25m out and up to the wing to present.

ok Milburn can flot forward and sometimes be damaging but if too useful as a defender

SJ is a legend but CHF he is not HF but not CHF

after saying that i will prob get slammed here but just a sugestion, with the likes of harley egan makie milburn even slip rooke n enright into the mix for tall defenders. what about trying to release matty scarlett forard more? - but then again 3 time all austrtalian FB maybe not although i like the idea but wont happen.

now, cant wait to see the tommahawk get a more afl games this year.

i see our forward line like this

FF
Varcoe Hawkins Chapman
Stokes Mooney S.Johnson

or something to that effect. givin that anytime blokes like Otto, gaza, jimmyB, selwood n woja (and crosses fingers davenport) could be havin a rest up there.
wouldnt mind djerrkura playin more afl games also

p.s i know makie has said he prefers backline but he is also a good option to put forward
