Stack playing HBF which is the easiest position in the game to play to get easy touches where Cerra is playing Mid and the going average rate for disposal efficiency for a mid is closer to 65%~70% per game.
So don’t get caught up in easy half back stats.

Stack is more back pocket as well were defence counts for something especially deep defending the goals

And I did say 2 firsts for Bolton. 3 is a just a bit rich - although Carlton would probably pay it. And if he was 10 years older the cats would in a heartbeat.

As I've said previously I'd have no issues with our 2 firsts for Cerra and Dockers first swapping around.

We get Cerra and a top 10 kid and Dockers can either take 2 first round talents or package them up to move higher in the order than our first(currently 8)

Nothing wrong with a bit of speculation from a fans perspective, but none of us really know what the ins and outs are regarding club finances and deals offered to players that drive what is asked for at the trade table.

I've said myself that I'd love to recruit Cerra Dunstan Narkle and Lipinski this off season, but there is more chance of us finishing top 4 than that happening. If we didn't sit here and speculate on possible moves this place would be rather boring.

From what I hear (core source is Tiger71, but others have information, even including the media ) we want Narkle (inside mid with sparkle) and Cerra (outside mid with skill, plus all round ability). They will create a younger core squad and keep us going for a while. That makes perfect sense to me. Inside mids is our weakest spot now, and Narkle does a lot to add ready made depth there. Outside skill is a major problem too, Cerra helps there as well. So those 2 guys really alter the balance of our squad. Given we have a premiership quality team that is a huge thing.

The rumours around Green etc are interesting, but I actually don't expect them to happen. However they seem to show that the RFC is looking hard to pick up anyone that is forced out by the full cap space of some teams. If we get it right and get lucky this off season we end up with a younger team that simply reloads and goes again in 2022. Otherwise we should get a rebuild/refresh going very fast.

I've said previously that I believe that the likes of Cerra and Narkle would be better pick ups for us from a list structure point of view instead of someone like Green.

Firstly, IMO the cost is going to be about the same to pick up the 2 of them compared to just getting Green. GWS aren't going to let Green go cheaply especially when he is contracted for another 2 years, whereas the likes of Cerra and Narkle are coming out of contract and their clubs don't really have any leverage because of that. There will be a bit of to and fro in terms of negotiations, but I expect both deals to be quite straight forward.

Secondly, IMO Cerra and Narkle are a better fit for the way we play. Both Cerra and Narkle come across as hybrid mids who can play both inside the contest and on the outside as well. If you look at our midfield group they all come across as the same albeit at slightly different levels of impact. For example Prestia and Cotchin are better on the inside, but can also hurt on the outside, where as Martin Edwards & Bolton are more damaging outside the contest, but can still win their fair share inside.

Green on the other hand is more of a pure inside mid who does his best work at the contest but doesn't seem to hurt the opposition in general play, I'm not saying he wouldn't be a great addition to the team especially if we were to change tact and become a more of a win the clearance orientated team rather than relying on forcing the opposition into turnovers through dirty clearances.

I’ll be honest, until the freo game I didn’t rate Cerra much, thought he was really vanilla. But credit to him, in the last quarter, with the game on the line, he was huge.

I’ll trust the club on this one. One things for sure though, we have a really good hand this off season and we’ve discovered a few things this season as well. Rioli, Mansell, Stack back, Bolton taking his game to a new level, so too Graham. CJ showing he can play, Baker showing he can play anywhere. If Junior comes on with a bang which I suspect he will, damn I’ll be feeling good about the future. I’ll also go on record as saying Ralphsmith will be a hell of a player, like what I see. I also think Balta forward and someone stepping up in defence (Biggie, Miller?)would go a long long way in settling us list wise.

I cannot see the price for Cerra being along those lines. I think it is more like - presuming Richmond finish say 10th, it will be our own first and second round picks, which will slide to at least approximately pick 11-12 and pick 30.

I think we’d also get Narkle for a Markov type price, no higher than that, probably our own 3rd rounder around the high 40’s.

That would leave us with Geelong’s first - sliding to around pick 18, Saints second pick sliding to around pick 27, and Suns 3rd in the low 40’s.

Cerra, Narkle, picks 18, 27, 42 and some lower picks we probably don’t use. Obviously if Chol and or CCJ leave then you probably get a pick in the 45-55 range for Chol and something in the 15-20 range for CCJ.

Any chance of getting Green as well I am spending 18 and our 2022 first to get him in, and you might get something back in some of these trades, possibly picks in the 30’s or 40’s. Players being mentioned like Riccardi are not worth a great deal in terms of draft capital, 3rd round pick only.

I am not generally in favour of being a heavy player trading team, but like the 2016 off season this might be a good chance to get a couple of partially exposed quantities in to fill some obvious holes in our team.

This won’t happen. We will most likely finish above freo and if we don’t it will only be 1-2 picks between us.

Freo ain’t going to do Cerra for 17. Which is pretty much what that trade ends up being.
