Watching the replay. You know....what he lacks in polish, he makes up with intensity.
Modern footy is all about intensity. In an age of defensive pressure, an age in which the league is very equalised, 'the team that turns up on the day wins' is fast becoming a tired but very true cliche.

I love what he's provided this year. With our MF destroyed by our fitness staff he has seriously stepped up. He probably would've gotten more games if not for the tragic passing of Walsh. Phil saw something in him I believe. Great move by the club to give him a lifeline. I reckon by years end the club will offer him a modest 2 year contract which he will grab with both hands.

And his lack of intensity was originally what had myself and likely many others doubting his ability at AFL level.

But he has turned it up 5 fold, really using his body and attacking both man and ball. Both Greenwood and CEY evolving as players could give us a real edge in the hard ball department.

Loving his tackling last night, had a couple of really strong ones. Really handy player who will get better with more afl experience.

I also dont know how you guys watch a game then replay the same game only 2 hours later, little crazy if you asked me...

Get the feeling the ACL was a case of him not knowing what he’s got till it’s (almost) gone. Has come back with a completely different mindset.

And well done to the club for sticking with him (and I guess lucky no one else thought to take a punt on him - or is there an unspoken rule about rookie picks in such situations that other clubs don’t poach a player?)

Came here to say I was wrong. I thought CEY should've been delisted ages ago. Always thought he was too slow for the game, but he has proven me wrong. Thank goodness we still have him on the list, because without him, we'd be struggling to beat the worst teams with our injury list.

For a bloke that's 192cm??? What would you call him then?

Much like Vader said, slow.

CEY is showing he has a lot of tools (more then I gave him credit for), but leg speed/mobility isn't one of them.

I'd like to see CEY work on the fend off.

He's got monstrous strength so can't see many players getting to him through it if his technique is right.

I think it'd help him compensate from his lack of speed better than his current tactic of just letting them tackle him and keep on going with them wrapped around him.

Plus if he gets famous for it maybe he can get some dusty like immunity to HTB calls when he does it and it doesn't work out.

I think Greenwood has been really good for CEY.
I think they're really good friends off the field too, so that probably helps. CEY went with Hugh to New Mexico in the preseason the year before last and they did a training camp up there prior to the start of our pre-season training. Shame CEY then went on to do his knee.

He's definitely building as the string of games gets longer, the injuries we've had really have been a blessing for him as he's finally getting a true run at it. The trajectory of improvement seems to be quite rapid too so fingers crossed there's plenty more to come.

Wasn't it Hampton that CEY trained with in the US? I seemed to recall that they both were very keen to return to play ripped and shipshape in Bristol fashion.

Doesn't have the leg speed, but he certainly is mobile / agile enough in close situations for a big man.

Never doubted this guy unlike so many on this forum. Will never be a superstar but would have him in my side any day of the week. Just tough to fit him in when you've got a midfield of Crouch X2, Sloane, Gibbs and Greenwood.

I'd love to rotate him off a forward flank/pocket, but it seems we've got that covered too....
