Did Fox Footy end up showing their coverage?

I caught Channel 10's coverage, but I only had Fox Footy replaying a Collingwood-Richmond match.

Thought Channel 10s was awful. Not enough interviews or focus on the Pattison house - that cameras are there, why not use them more?

You're being too kind.

It was downright ********ful. They've only had 3 years to improve it so I guess I'm being too quick to judge..

The first Richmond segment could've been edited so we didn't have the idiot doing the interviewing stumbling his way with useless talk and bulking it up. Fine though, it was a novelty having 4 1st round picks, ok give the Tigers a bit of time.

Then every club is run through at a disorganised pace with less details than I could've got picking up the morning paper's draft snapshot. Hardly any footage etc.

Although we had the positive of no Huddo, we instead got these twits either restating what Kevin Sheehan (the one bright light of the show) had just said or asking questions that generally had already been answered. More padding.

And then the piece de resistance - a cross BACK to the Richmond barbeque where we they suddenly had no time limits and spent what felt like an eternity talking ******** with Clinton Casey. Great. Not even a segment devoted to footage of the Tiger's new recruits or anything like that. Just administration ********talk. And then they come back to the studio and say "we've run out of time".

I thought their coverage in 2002/3 was poor but they have found new ways to shag it up. They make Sarah Jone's segments on Foxtel look like journalistic masterpieces.

That Clinton Casey fiasco was a fkg disgrace. As you say, they've found new ways to shag up what was always a very ordinary report each year.

Supporters of the other 15 clubs would have also liked to hear about their new players or, god forbid, actually see a brief interview with them, rather than listen to timeless ramblings on the internal happenings of Richmond.

Can someone please bring back Channel 7!! :(

Very good post King Corey. The show should be all about footage of the draftees and interviews with the draftees (less coaches) with comments from someone like Sheahan. Is that so hard Channel 10?

One day they will realise that they are not an offshoot of the AFL system and actually get someone on who can make some tough calls. Maybe question a clubs choice or strategy.

Kevin Sheahan has no choice. He is a paid employee of the AFL and the general manager of the system that produces the players. Of course he is going to put a positive spin on things. But surely there is someone who can say something interesting.

As expected, it was crap.

They devoted about 30 minutes to Richmond, and 5 seconds to the other 14 clubs. I actually thought the Roos did well to get about 2 minutes devoted to them. Speaks volumes.

Yeah, disappointed they didn't have a chat with Pattison and Willits. The all-Richmond show at the end was a bit ordinary also.

I am glad that they didn't make recycled players the big deal like they have previously...thats always unamazing.

Yeh they went back to C. Casey's BBQ and they talked to Clinton Casey this time. They showed D. King talking to Bling Bling and Meyer and i tell ya the whole time (including first half) i reckon Clinton Casey and TW could not get their smiles off their face :D
