Micheal Apeness is the current lead ruck for their WAFL side Peel, so he probably gets the job...

Do we really expect Sandi to miss a week with concussion? Does he have a history of concussion issues?

How many love children does Bucks have, exactly? Blair, Mayne, Maynard, Langdon, Cox, Adams....the list goes on. And why are his love children always so (allegedly) bad at football given they are (allegedly) blessed with his DNA?

Yeah I can't understand it as well wasn't he "FIGJAM" when he was younger- football, football nothing but football
how could he find the time to father all these children

Shame we lose Varcoe this week but getting Wells back likely negates that. Really worried about their small forwards and overall pace, especially with so many not quick blokes in our team. Shame Murray didn't tear the game apart Saturday.

Not sure Maynard will come straight back after missing so much footy, a week of VFL might beckon. If he's right for seniors then Greenwood pays the price.

Out: Varcoe (injured)
In: Wells

For myself I don't 'want' Thomas dropped, but I wondered whether he might be one player to make way for Sier (now injured) or Wills at some stage, given that some of his more important numbers (especially clearances, but also goals and possessions) have dropped quite a bit over the past month or so. But he won't get dropped if he can keep the scoreboard ticking over, which is something we need in our 'bits and pieces' forward line, and I don't think that the form of Rupert in the twos puts enough pressure on his position in any case.
Thomas has kicked 6 goals in the lat 4 weeks, average 1.5 per game and would give him 33 goals for a full season. Has not fallen off and a part time mid who can kick goals isnt getting dropped.

His possession rate in the last 4 weeks is also slightly higher than his season average so that hasn't dropped off either.

Happy to concede that I might be underestimating his contribution, we all have our blind spots.

without the inhouse knowledge Thomas seems like your typical player that plays to the coaches instructions to the T. so whatever role he is given he usually executes.

I’m a fanboy but I think Thomas was great on Friday. Don’t know the stats but seemed to have a few good extractions in the middle that led to centre clearances.

Pendles to reprise his Patty Cripps role? At least Fyfe burns it by foot a lot.
Wouldn’t be opposed to it, I think Buck’s will just back our system to beat theirs tho.
Fyfe is a star but I don’t think he has the back-up for them to beat us this week.

I actually thought he fumbled more in congestion than I can recall for some time. Wasn't a bad game by any stretch, but I see that as a real strength in his game so I was surprised by it.

The perfect role player. I reckon he'll stay in the team unless he's injured. But now, there's no one left to put pressure on anyway.... all in hospital.

No. But it is concussion in the year 2018.

At 35 years old, they may err on the side of caution both with his head and age and just decide to rest him anyway. Regardless, I expect us to win by some margin...

Greenwood is actually pretty good in the air.
I pointed that out last week, (at the game).
He has an usual, (very effective) action - he extends his arms straight up and marks it at the highest point.
PS: Maybe Mason should watch him.

Mason was impersonating a clothes hanger this week, had all number of items drooping off his arms.

They don't fly players even if they have 1 effect of an concussion.

Won't they need to assess today to see if there are actually any effects from a concussion? I only saw bits and pieces of the game and missed this incident but as I understand it, it occurred in the 4th quarter, he'd played 74% game time, usually only plays 80-90% anyway, so the 20 minutes concussion test likely ruled him out of further play as much as any actual diagnosed concussion.

Maybe, but Ross Lyon after the game did refer to it as a concussion, and that he was a chance of missing this week as they would be conservative with him. I never believe anything that Lyon says anyway.
