He is the single most pathetic soft footballer running around in the AFL at the moment. Ive never seen a player shirk the issue, chase halfheartedly, fall over, miss targets, whinge, sook, drop their head as much as Buttercup does.

I think it was Jars that said "there would be 15 other clubs happy to have him"..well gee, you CAN have him. He is the softest player ive ever seen. We have players like Bishop and Murray and Thurstans trying their bloody hearts out to get a game for us, yet he gets a game week in week out and does heck all week in week out. He is a pansy just like his father....at least his little brother puts his body on the line for the football.

It took him getting 'injured' for him to come off the ground today...and it wouldnt surprise me if he broke a nail and thats his 'injury'.

I just hope he gets dropped sometime soon, and put Lockwood or Thurstans in the side

WANNA GIVE HIM TO US??:D
Nah i always thought he was overrated, and if Lockwood was ever fit in his life, cornes would be breaking nails at the Bays:D

You can bloody have him!!!!!!!! He can waste a position in your team for all i care!!! Id rather have Ian Downsborough or Mark Conway in my side than Cornes at the moment, and he would want to do something pretty bloody good for me to change my mind

If hes any good he'll respond.
If he's not wouldn't you want to find out now?

exactly. Get him out...put lockwood in, at least he trys hard when he gets a game.

Hopefully he ruptured a spleen or will have an unfortunate bout of appendicitis before next weeks game so he can piss off. He is a typical Glenelg player...expects the ball to come to him and wont go in after it

Massive call Macca, but didn't somebody already feed the half a pasty we traded him for to the seagulls????

They'd probably want it back.

jabsy

Macca, I think you are very hard on Cornsey. I think the reason he is not playing well is because he is finding it difficult to work out what his true role is in that foward line at the moment.

I think now that Che and Wangas are scoring options up foward and Tredders is the marking option across half foward, Chad is finding it hard to get into games. I think if he played an entire game at full foward or CHF hew would play a lot better.

After saying that though maybe it would be good to send him back to Glenelg for a week or so to regain some confidence. Lockwood kicked 3 goals for Centrals on the weekend so maybe its time to give him another go. Also will the selectors please drop Lyle and give Kane Cornes a go.

I'd put lockwood in for a couple of weeks.

He is just starting to refind his touch again, and just has that bit more class to make the most of the oppurtunities he gets.

Get real

That's the first half decent game he has played in the SANFL this year.

He doesn't have the right attitude and should be de-listed.

Macca, Have you heard channel 7 commentators when cornes gets a possie "Oh what a player he will be", "what a sensational pair of hands"
LOL

I can't see any value in dropping Chad back to Glenelg "for confidence", because the ball would never get to him. When I saw him play a couple of times in the past it seemed so - the only way that he could keep warm was by running around in circles waiting for the ball to get down his end, and when it did the delivery was so bad that it just went back again. Glenelg forwards do not get "experience" at anything other than losing.

Tell Eastaugh36 that in the regional board :D

i think by the game he played today this point has been proven even more. He just cost us a goal just then by dropping the easiest of marks and then handballing it straight to a hawk which resulted in a goal. Its amazing how he is on the ground all the time for so little impact, yet his brother so far (3/4 time) has 3 times his possesions and has only been on for a few minutes

Macca, he took a couragous mark in the last quarter
Got into the gae sorta, ended up wth 5 possies :D

Anwyay great win today for you guys.......made Hawthorn look like ********

A. The trouble with resurrecting old posts like this is the distorting effect before you realise their age. I don't like the way they are not obviously flagged. It's like my peevish complaint that the cricket replays do not include 'REPLAY' across the bottom of the screen.
B. In 2001 you would have been absolutely within your rights to complain about Chad. He was half-hearted and wasn't much of a forward. He was improving in his attitude and effectiveness in 2003 but even if, as some say, CHB is not his perfect position it is a hell of a lot better than when we relied on him kicking for goal.

PMSL.....when i first read it i thought far out.....Macca has been taken some serious drugs :p .....then I saw the date.

Scott your a shocker LOL :p

P.S Has Macca eaten his words yet :p

I stand by my call at the time. At the time he was incredibly soft, wouldnt chase, whinged a lot and spent a lot of time on the ground without seeing much of it. The year after he had a big pre season and had an outstanding season...dropped a bit in 03 and then went to new lengths in his new posie in 04.

But back then he was easily my most frustrating player.

That's not what you told me Scott. It was more like hahaha look what Macca19 wrote :p
You are going to get me in more trouble than what it is worth Shane.

All I was doing was reminiscing on the player than Chad once was to the player we respect today.

Hell in one thread back in 2001 I questioned which players were under the pump, of about the six I listed I came up with one Josh Carr.

He was under the pump and Mark Williams was questioning where he was going to fit in but didn't Josh make us eat our words?

Its just interesting to have a look between now and then, just when we were establishing ourselves as a good football side.
