Just on 10 news collingwood rejected an offer from west coast to see tarrant to head west and for us to gain chad fletcher, good or bad move??

Good move from us to reject it.
Chad Fletcher personifies the 'word' "meh".
We have O'Bree, why would we want another version of O'Bree (he could be better or he could be worse, Fletcher does have a better mid around him).
This once again shows that WE HOLD THE CARDS. Not WCE not Freo. We have Tarrant, it is not a Nick Stevens or even a Thornton situation.

I think it is a good move.
I don't know much about your list, but I feel you need a key forward.
I feel you need a key forward because Rocca season was far from his best, and Didak's injury will keep him out for much of 2007. Without Tarrant up forward, who is going to kick your goals?

Having said that, WCE would be stupid to offer anything more than C Flecture and a late draft pick for Tarrant. C Flecture is a handy player and would be in your best 22, however his best probably isn't as good as Tarrant's best. On the other side of the coin WCE just won a flag and don't need to be selling the farm to get a player that really hasn't done much in recent times.

So unless you think Buckley, Rocca or someone else can kick you a winning score, i would hold onto to tarrant. Otherwise Flecture and a late draft pick is more than adequate compensation for tarrant.

This is just my opinion

Tarrant is a key forward. His best possie may be HFF but that doesn't mean he's not a KPP. But I digress, he is a tall forward and a goalkicker.

We wouldn't be trading Tarrant if we needed tall forwards.

We have Rocca, T.Cloke and Rusling which still makes a good trio of key forwards, and we need to play the latter two to develop them.

We are trading Tarrant because we have good depth in that area.

HALLELUJAH!!! Thank god we rejected that ludacrous bid of chad fletcher. That is just bull****. If they really want Taz now they will have to pay up or shut up. Glad to see the club not falling into the trap of off loading Taz and good to see they are more than happy to keep him if nobody offers a 'worthy' trade. I'd be glad to see Taz stay either way.

Good sign to get a proper offer so early on. They'll upgrade that offer tomorrow. That'll prompt Freo to make us an offer. This is what we want. West Coast v Freo = better trade for Tarrant.

My predicition is that tomorrow they'll offer us Pick 16 and Rosa. We'll ask them to upgrade the pick to the Bulldogs' first pick by trading McDougall. Then we'll ask Freo what they've got.

my prediction is there is no way that will happen. west coast already said rosa is off limits. i think we have done all we can with tarrant i think hes fremantle's now.

Don't kid yourself mate. WC never gets screwed in trading, and I doubt this year will be any different. If pies hold out for too much WC will just walk away.

But you're in luck. Freo are in the same state and they like to cop it up their a.ss when it comes to trading.

No you don't kid yourself.
A trade of your first pick and Fletcher is mediocre, barely acceptable let alone a trade for just Fletcher on his own.
We don't want to rip people off (although it would be nice) we want to get what we deserve for Tarrant.

Fletcher is a good player but too much like Licuria, good honest battler but not the silky midfielder we need

Exactly. It looks like the club is only going to do the best deal. That might be WCE's final offer, so it looks like Taz is going to Freo (if anyone).

That's the most limp wristed offer of all time. I presume it was Fletcher ande Pick 16!

True. Cant believe you didnt except it. Chad Fletcher is better then you think. Was top 3 for us in the GF IMO. Lead the clearances for us that game which is a pretty good feat with players like Judd and Kerr around.

Eagles said they will wait till other deals are done (presuming McDougall) before they resume interest

Eagles are out of the running for Tarrant according to the radio in Perth. Don't want to give up what you guys are after but Fremantle are going to meet with Tarrant tomorrow and make a "pitch" to him, which could have him nominating Freo as his favoured destination.

Adrian Barich says its 50-50 between Collingwood and Fremantle for Tarrant.

Fletcher is a solid contributor behind Cuz, Judd and Kerr. Put him with a different midfield and he gets picked up by opposition #1 tagger instead of #4 tagger and he'd have less impact than S.O'Bree, who's been busting his backside since Bucks reduced his on ball workload.

Barich is a joke. This is the man who thought Kerr had a knee injury before the Grand Final.

I'm happy we didn't get rid of Fletch :thumbsu: one bad year where he came off an injury-interrupted pre-season and played a lot at HFF, a position he hasn't played before and everyone writes him off. Will be a big improver next year

We either do Tazza for Staker and pick 16
or Tazza for Crowley and pick 13 or we shouldn't do a deal at all Tazza will be a real good player if he leaves us

How much football do you people watch.
I hate to be negative and personal but Staker is a very ordinary footballer. I wouldn't go as far as calling him a dud but he is only a couple of rungs above that. Crowley is a much better player way underrated. Staker is overrated because of a few highlight reel moments we've seen in his first year, he is very inconsistant, and is like Tarrant, except LESS consistant doesn't work as hard (althouhg Tarrant is underrated in this aspect) has LESS TALENT, and has produced far less. He is a handy project player. PERIOD.
