Rather eagles actually went to the draft and built a list. No doubt we still trade the early picks for some pleb

It's not about being a 'rabble' or not, it's about who can pay the most money, and satisfy a trade with Sydney, which ain't Freo.

Having said that, it appears most likely he stays for 2 more years, which is best for all.

So its not about who can pay the most money and satisfy a trade, as West Coast can do both... It's totally about the Eagles being a rabble bud!

Doesn't really matter.

He's looking to cash in on a huge contract, which Freo can't match WCE with, otherwise he'd just go to Freo at the end of the year and wouldn't even entertain a contract in Sydney. Reportedly, his Mrs is desperate to move back but if he's staying in Sydney despite that, it means he's not interested in moving to Freo, which would be solely due to the money on offer IMO.
 
Takes the good cash from the swans for 2 years and a chance to win a flag
buy the time he is a free agent the eagles will be in a better position and with no Harley they can pay him a monster deal

2 extra years away from home ,if he is serious is a long time to wait ..
 
A month ago Cal Twomey had Chad locked to stay at Sydney and now he is as they say on Gettable “backing the truck up” away of those strong comments. Are most on here still convinced he will re-sign at the swans??

His motivation to stay on at the Swans would be based on their ability to challenge for a premiership this year and next.

I'm sure he will wait and see how the season plays out....

Sydney at 2 - 4, with the Suns this week and GWS next week they could be looking at 2 - 6...

Suddenly getting $2m a year to head home and help rebuild WC sounds better than getting paid less to lose games for the Swans.

Sydney aren’t going to challenge. $2M a year very hard to turn down.
 
his value seems to be decreasing anyway, got a bit of the downhill skiier look about him.

Maybe his failures in big finals are catching up to him mentally

He was their best in the 2022 GF.

Having a shocker this year though, which I really hope WCE have taken note of.

Will be pissed if we give up a top 5 pick for him.

He was on fire early on this year until he got sick.

Some talk he had a bad rib knock as well, his fine and I am really hoping the new contract is announced soon.

That's not really the point. We have way too many list needs to overpay for a bloke who plays almost exactly the same as Elijah Hewett, albeit a better version.
