Hurn is elite. Top 3 half backs in the league. Hurn was easily All Australian until injured.

I remember when the afl site was talking about about a defender finally taking Hurns #1 defender ranking. Hurn had been injured. For 5 weeks.

I would say we would have 4 elite players based on Position, 10 games over last 2 years
Nick Nat, Kennedy, glass, Priddis
Plenty of above average players which pushes us up
Darling, Mckenzie, Lecras, Yeo, Hurn, Ellis,

Problem is we don't have enough elite or above average players in the midfield its mostly forwards and defenders, and last year they also got injured

A system that has Priddis as elite; West Coast as 3rd and has Rids doing it's stats is deeply flawed

When I was looking at points a while back our only elite players were Naitanui and Hurn. Priddis was just outside of his group.

It appears that the teams who do well have more "elite" players (Hawks - 6; Swans, Freo, Cats - 5). Unless I missed it, it doesn't say how many we have. Probably only 2 or 3 I'd say. But what we have are a lot of above average players, which clearly pushes up our average and leaves us at No. 3.

Performance-wise, it seems it is better to have, say, 1 elite player and one average player than 2 above average players.

We only have 1 elite - Cox.
