If Barcelona turn up, Arsenal have zero chance and will be spanked. Knowing Arsenal though, Barca will be very poor and Arsenal will win 1-0 prompting wild hysteria from their fans "could we actually do it?" only to be rightly lubricated in the second leg something like 7-0
We would've done it in 2011 if European Football's administrative body weren't in cahoots with Barca.

Why do they do it over 4 weeks? It only requires two weeks of 4 games each day. Irritating.
So it eventually aligns with the Europa League.

There are still currently 32 teams left in Europa compared to 16 in the CL. Over the next 4 weeks is the Europa's round of 32 and round of 16.

So from the quarter finals onwards, both competitions will be at the same stage ... all the first and second legs will then occur same week.

Hazard comes out and says he'd find it tough to turn down a move to PSG.

Could the timing have been any worse?
Bit of editorialisation from the journalist there. Someone from reddit:
"French speaker here.

He says the usual spiel that everything is possible in football, he's not thinking of leaving, he wants to win the CL at some stage in his life but it's not a priority right now, he's in a good group at Chelsea that's capable of winning trophies each season, contract till 2020 with Chelsea.

One thing he did say is that only once has he said he was ever planning on leaving (at Lille), and only once he has actually left. The rest is mostly newspapers speculating."

Not sure its as big a deal as the tabloids are trying to make out. Seems like good clickbait.

But if Real or PSG are going to throw £80m at us for him it'd be tempting.

Yeah. He also says hes got 4 and half years left and is happy where he is.

I guess that doesnt make for a grabbing headline

He does say he wants to win the champions league which he can't do next season with you guys.

IIRC he wasn't joining you guys originally if you weren't playing CL football. So it isn't unreasonable to suggest he wants out based on his statement.

Hazard has a better chance of winning the UCL at Chelsea rather than PSG. Except for next season of course.

If he's so mentally weak and disloyal as to use one poor season (the season after winning the league title, by the way) as an excuse to leave, then Chelsea are better off cashing in.

Hazard isn't worth anywhere near 70-80 million pounds. Chelsea would be fools to turn that down.

He does say he wants to win the champions league, some time in his career. Nothing about next season.

I'm not sure about him not joining us if we didnt win the UCL as he was pretty close to joining in the January window prior and said he was joining us a we had the proposal for him and for his development.

I agree, if he wants to leave after how he's gone this season i won't be that upset. His lack of performance is a big reason why we're where we are. I would hope he has a bit more character than that.

If he does leave hes going to cost a fortune though and I'm sure we wont struggle for replacements.

Based on talent alone I think he is worth 70 - 80m but his fragile mentality shaves off about 20 - 30m. He doesn't have the killer instinct required to make it at an elite club like Real Madrid or Barcelona. He would improve their depth but not their starting XIs.

Until they play the Europa final on a Friday morning and not tell anyone. They could just have a bigger break. Teams have cup and league games anyway so there will still be a lot of football
