Chelsea looking scarily competent. I look forward to the City v Rangers match in the next round of the UEFA Cup (fingers crossed).

Man U, Chelsea and Real Madrid are as good as through to the next phase. In Chelsea's group, though, the hunt for second place is now wide open as a result.

What a perfromance 4-0 against Lazio. It was great to see Veron at his best on a day that the club took a big step forward. Seeing that dirty prick Sinisa Mihaljovic sent off was icing on the cake.

Dirty Racist Prick actually, he's the dude that made some racist remarks to Vieira a while back.

Man Yoo were just too good for Rangers, even when they brought on Bellion, Fletcher and Kleberson they still looked a cut above Rangers. Forlans goal was a beaut, he's really starting to find his feet now and looks class.

But whoever doubted Fergie.
RVN was unlucky not to get the match ball, denied twice for his third. His delicate chip deserved a goal. Keano man of the match for me, for all the **** he produced last year he really has looked the goods this year. Ever since the Newcastle game where he abosolutely towelled Bowyer up and commanded the midfield he has looked like that old Keane that used to dominate games.

Ronaldo played alright, i believe that was his first full game. United's back 4 was fairly dominant, bar some little runs Silvestre and Ferdinand tried to make when they forgot they were Central Defenders. Rangers wont get near Stuttgart in Germany so they can start planning for the UEFA.

Chelsea were fantastic. Lampard, Mutu, Duff, Cudicini and Veron were all brilliant. There back four repelled all that Lazio threw at them.

AC Milan had Nesta sent off but still managed to win 1-0 away which is a fair effort. They're looking pretty formidable to be honest.

Damn! Celta Vigo. I don't mind Ajax, or rather admire they're style of play and particuarly they're captains, Rafael Van Der Vaart. It would be a shame to see Ajax miss qualificatoin to the nest round but that looks a real possibility now.

It will be interesting to see tonight how Arsenal and Inter perform. Arsenal is stuck in a must win situation and Inter are coming off a 3-0 loss away to Spartak Moscow.

Does anyone know what game ESPN has on tommorow morning?

Happy with our win. Losing our best player Maldini, then going down to 10 men and losing our next best defender in Nesta wasnt exactly ideal, especially with Inzaghi and Serghinho not even there, but we gritted out the result. We arnt in overly fantastic form, but there is still a while to go and our defense is allowing us to get favourable results.

Chelsea's result looks great on paper, smashing the racist-pr!cks, but Lazio have no depth (nor money), and for them having to cover 5 players is virtually impossible, especially when they have one decent keeper, with sp@stics as backups.

I didnt watch it, but saw Mancini's interview on rai just before and he seems to think they were unlucky to go down a goal, then after losing Mihajlovic they simply gave up.

What were the 4 goals like? Seems strange for even Lazio to get hammered like that. This may really wake europe up to Chelsea, like it did to us after we smacked Deportivo 4-0 early last season. Everyone we played refused to open themselves up.

Watched Man U - Rangers. Now i dont watch scottish football, but geezus, the standard must be horribly ordinary there. Rangers were just a nothing opponent.

I don't doubt Fergie per se (his record speaks for itself), but I don't believe our squad for Europe is as strong as last seasons. The only way we'll get through to the semi finals is if we get a soft draw (ie. no Italian or German sides, and no Real Madrid) in the quarter finals.

When we played against Stuggart, a team with a very well organised defence, we had no creativity to break them down. The loss of Veron (or more to the point, our inability to replace him) will come back to bite us if we come across an Italian or German team later in the competition. Paul Scholes can do the job, but the best European sides usually have two players who can deliver the passes that cut through defences.

He also didn't pick up an experienced central defender who can keep the others organised. I reckon our back four does have talent, but they don't have enough European experience.

We're through to the next stage, but we won't get too much further than that.

Mancini's entitled to his opinion, but mine is that:
- Chelsea were unlucky not to be at least 2 up by the time Mihajlovic was sent off,
- he should have been sent off nearly an hour before he actually was (for spitting at an opponent)
- you're not unlucky to go a goal down if your goalkeeper is crap
- Lazio's passing was orfinary and their inability to close down opposition midfielders was suicidal

If I posted the results, i would have bolded-up Chelsea :D ...great win...good to see Sinisa "Spitter" Mihajlovic sent off...we were lucky not to have put at least 5 or 6 past them...Cudicini's double save was magic

**** me. We are getting a pasting.
8-3 after 70 minutes, amazing.

0-0 at Highbury, I really am starting to think getting up early to read live text commentary of Arsenal games in Europe might not be a great idea.

Then Ashley goes off and does something stupid like scoring a goal.

1-1 in Inter-Locomotiv in other group game.

Locomotiv has really opened up the group getting 4 points from their two games v Inter.

After a shabby start we are well in the mix, win next week can send us top.

Another poor result for Inter, they are a rabble at the moment.

Story of the night definitely in Monaco, biggest win in Champions League history (I presume they mean the group stages). The guy who scored 4 goals wasn't even meant to start!
