Voges probably hard to drop, Bailey the best performed since he came in, Watto our best ODI player and the captain to come back in. Who goes out? On form and overall ODI career you would think it has to be Warner but can see them sticking with him.

wait. Voges getting smashes is good for Marsh. 'cause it increases the chance of them playing doherty as one of the 4 bowlers and Marsh at 7 makes 10000X more sense than Faulkner

Faulkner has done very well with the ball since he's come into the team and Maxwell can come in at 7 and hit for glory probably as well as Marsh. Well, maybe not as well but he can do it plus they'll have more mediocre spin bowling at their disposal.

Total (6 wickets; 38.5 overs) 259 (6.66 runs per over)

Any concerns here from a Test point of view?

Different format as is highlighted by Watson's getting a ton:p

Any concerns I have about Warner and Hughes with the red ball are not going to be alleviated or heightened by anything they do against the white ball. Warner shouldn't be opening in ODIs anyway.

People forget Watson did a very good job as opener there four years ago. Warner and Hughes are viewed by many as being risky in the UK against the moving ball and first start we have two globes - not encouraging.

Watson did a reasonable job as an opener there. Around four fifties, no tons. He's a different beast in short formats.

None whatsoever. Different games, different surfaces, different pressures. Watson made runs, which shows how relevant to Test selection one inning in a different format should be.

Even if you look at Warner and Hughes, different types of games and one failure is hardly cause for any concern anyway. If they notch up two or three in the FC tour games and that will start to be a worry. Good or bad, CT form should be basically irrelevant*. There might be some pointers, but nothing to hang a selection on one way or the other.

*Of course, I know the selectors don't tend to differentiate between the formats as strongly as that but Davey is a favey and Hughes seems poised to be perservered with for a little while yet anyway.
