while hes still improving and adjusting to the tempo swift shouldnt be dropped.. wooshas giving him the bryce gibbs learning school off the half back flank. so by that reconing he'll be a jet centreman in 2011..

no change unless injury forces it.

Hey Eagles fans, just a question, and no its got nothing to do with DT. What has happened to Adam Cockie?? Didnt know where else to ask it so i did here. I thought he was really impressive in the few games he played, you guys have a few great youngsters and i think you should continue to play them.

Could Butler possibly be the one to miss out if someone comes in? Admittedly I wasnt following his game closely but he didnt seem to get alot of it.

Got 12 effective disposals from 12 disposals so he's improved his disposal, needs to find the ball more though. Swift i think did everything he was asked to do, ran hard for little reward as well.

Puts himself in the right spots and should have finished with 15+ disposals if the ball had of come to him.

Was put back on the Rookie List after Rd 10() and has been playing pretty average footy in the WAFL since.

Not to worry though, he'll get his chance.

Haven't seen it mentioned anywhere yet, but McKinley's increased workrate off the ball was really great to see.

Seems that week in the WAFL was just what he needed to get his head in the right place. Good stuff:thumbsu:

Swift was a little quiet but i think they will show faith in him. Butler didnt get a lot of it but was effective when he did and i think they will be reluctant to drop him after just 1 game back in the Seniors. I doubt there will be any chnages (depending on Cox) and id like to see the same 22 get the job done again and start cementing that as our best 22 as i dont think it is far away. Just Cox and Maybe Hunter if fit but Nicoski might spend a few weeks in the WAFL.

Only played half a game for 10 posessions. He was given certain roles on the HBF by the looks.

Was minding Stokes for the most part last week and did a good job of it too

i'd prefer no changes, it all really depends on whether or not cox is fit...i feel we have the right balance of talls and smalls at the moment but i cant see any talls getting dropped for cox.

melbourne have the worst ruck stocks in the comp anyway and im sure lynch/NN would be more than competitive against them. unless cox is 100% fit then i wouldnt play him.

keep swift in, he has class and we need to pump games into him. also leave butler, he needs time to get back into AFL footy.

No changes unless Cox coming back in for mine... unless its chosen by coaches as the ideal game to test youngsters like mcginnity and houlihan with a cpl of seniors resting which Id not complain about either.

Swift was ok and needs more games to adjust to afl tempo and pressure.. though that missed handball oob to Wirra was just horrible. Butler was good and started to find a bit of it and 100% eff, with a couple of good goal assist handballs out of traffic to Lecras, Kennedy and McKinley for majors :thumbsu:

Im sure that was Kerr not Swift. Id love to watch the game again and focus in on what Butler did, im very hopefull that he can get back to his best and it didnt look like he had a bad game the other night.

Talking about Lynch in the ruck, apparently he had 26 posessions and around about the same number of hit outs! I rekon Lynch could be the first ruck at allot of clubs out there especially with his ability to go forward and kick goals. To finish with 26 possies whilst leading the ruck though is awesome, Its a Cox type display.

I also love the way Lynch continuosly pushed the other blokes out of the ruck. Just did it at will, must be a very strong bloke.

Harsh and inaccurate.

Has averaged 20+ possessions a game in a side with a number of experienced on-ballers which has limited his time in the middle.

Went back to his 2008 role a fair bit last week (playing forward) and kicked a couple while still getting 23 or 24 possessions.

What exactly do you want him to do? 40 possessions and 5 goals each week?

Both Kerr and Swift missed a handball to a teammate while running up the flanks.

Thats why someone thought it was Kerr/Swift

As some of said - Kerr had a similar one on opposite wing...

BUT more important - I was going to do a NicNat 2nd game highlight vid tonight... but seeings as some other near breakout games or at least glimpses of good stuff from youngsters were as good on the weekend as Naita... would people prefer I did an overall "Good signs for the future" vid from the game that showed bits from Naita, Selwood, Masten, Ebert, Brown, Hurn, Butler etc?? Or just a NicNat one?

I'm simply going off what I see on EFH and the WAFL board, as they know more than I do on the matter.

And I'd love to see him get 40 possies and 5 goals in a game:D

I don't think we should have any changes this week.
That was our best win of the season.

Just another question- I know Daniel Kerr was playing on Sam Mitchall for most of the match and in the first half Sam chopped him up.
Kerr was better in the second half but I'm dissapointed in Kerr this season.
He gets tag week in week out which is cr*p but I felt that he needs to be more accountable for his man and if this continues, maybe he could spend a week in the reserves to help him gain some confidence.
His a champion but considering where we are now- maybe its what he needs.

And as far as replacing him- hows Cockie been doing in the WAFL-might suit the role- Melbourne dosen't have a good midfield anyway.

Kerr only tagged Mitchell in the second half, we wasn't minding him in the first. Lewis kept trying to tag Kerr, even though he was minding Mitchell so as a reult it left Masten free and Masten dominated the third quarter picking up 13 touches.

Kerr went onto Mitchell in the third quarter.
From my recollection he held him to just 4 possesions and kicked a goal himself that quarter.

I was watching it on TV so thats why you can get confused to who's on who, it looked like he was on Mitchell but I must be mistaken.

It was just a suggestion for helping Kerr gain some confidence.

"The basic argument could be, well if Tom Swift only gets 10 touches and you know Chad Fletcher can have 25, why don't you play him?

"But Tom Swift is getting less ground time and playing different roles, and we're happy with what he's doing and we think he's living up to our expectations.

"So therefore he stays in the side."

Swift stays and thank god if hes used in an attacking role against Melbourne he might actually show something to all those with the blinkers on.
