What do you reckon the Casey Scorpions team sheet will tell this week for fringe and rookie players like Cheney, Watts, Benell, Jetta and co. are not playing? Do you reckon that say if Cheney is not listed in the VFL team sheets they are pretty much guaranteed a spot in the seniors, out of the two alternatives below do you reckon your coaching staff would: (a) want them not to play an AFL game after a VFL game this week as they have access to a split round and therefore an extra week to rest their body for the rest of the season OR (b) still always want them to play footy each week whether or not its at VFL/AFL level despite having the long break

Christ...Can I phone a friend??

Uh, I think it would be pretty safe to assume that if Cheney was not named in the VFL team that he'll play Friday week.

I have no idea what the match committee are thinking, but i'm assuming the mid-season break applies to all of the players. I certainly cannot see the match committee making any of the 1st year players play at VFL level this weekend then on Friday week. I mean that would be my guess...

Its mid season, so the younger guys who are new to professional football are probably struggling even more than the senior guys, so they'll probably need to freshen up.

FREE JURRAH.

I propose that if Liam Jurrah is not freed from Casey prison soon that we do an Indian student style sit in at Flinders street station until he is set free. He has been wrongly convicted of not being ready to play, and deserves justice.

Maybe because the game's over a week away...

I would like to see these players out (but probably won't happen...)

OUT- Bruce, Rivers, Paul Johnson, McDonald, Whelan, McLean

IN - McKenzie, Bennell, Dunn, Martin, Bartram, Valenti

Martin for Paul Johnson
McKenzie for Bruce
Dunn for McDonald
Bartram for Whelan
Bennell for Rivers
Valenti for McLean...

Can't agree with these two, Rivers and Mclean have been solid all year.
Rivers amongst our best 5 the last 2 weeks, keept kosi and cloke quiet.
Mclean not setting the world on fire but still finding the footy.

McDonald and Wheelan on their last legs.

McKenzie for mine will be a similar player to Valenti will dominate VFL level but does not have the capacity to go to the next level...i am happy to be proven wrong.

I would like to see Bruce up forward play his best footy when attacking.

Possible inclusions Miller Jurrah Dunn Batram Petterd

But we'd still have to interrupt our sit-in on game-day Chop, there are limits to these things!

I'm on board, but only if we can get someone to play some Bob Marley stuff for us while we're there or something- seems appropriate to me ;)

in: Jurrah, Bennell, Wheatley (should be ready after this weekend)
out: Johnson, Whelan, Rivers

FFS PICK SOMEONE ELSE FOR YOUR GOD DAMN DT/SC TEAMS!!

The man has no place in our best 22 and better not have a place in any of our future 22's.

What's behind your decision of dropping Jared Rivers for Paul "kick 60 metres to opposition" Wheatley?

Off topic, but did anyone notice how many glamour's were in the crowd supporting Melb last monday?..... Maybe we have become the IN thing of the social set.... Most enjoable viewing......

I think its a comparitive thing seen at all collingwood games.

Observe:

Now ur typical collingwood girl:

Note how Pia Miller appears that little bit hotter (if thats possible) compared with ur typical pies supporter...

Out: Bell, Bate, Cheney, Whelan, Johnson, Robertson
In: Dunn, Newton, Bennell, Jurrah, Martin, Miller

6 changes is a lot, but that is the team I would want if I were coaching... Forward line would look like...

Watts Miller Sylvia
Maric Newton Jurrah

Can't drop Bate kicked our most goals this year and is being played in wrong position. I think he is a half forward flanker that can play as a leading centre half forward type. Cheney has done nothing wrong to get dropped would be very dissapointed to see him go out. And Newton's had his chance this year and has dissapointed. I think:
OUT: Bell, Whelan, Bruce, Robertson, Johnson
IN: Bennell, Jurrah, Jetta, Miller, Martin

Imagine this team next year:
FF: Maric Watts Bate
HF: Wonamaerri Morton Jurrah
C: Jones Sylvia Davey
HB: Bennell Rivers Grimes
FB: Frawley Garland Cheney
R: Jamar Mclean Moloney
I/C:Martin, Jetta, Meeson, McNamara
Emg: Johnson, Warnock, Strauss
*Plus the propects of picks 1 and two our future looks very bright

GO DEES!!!

Not hard to compare well though 86, considering that one even makes Gollum in Lord of the Rings look attractive ;)

\And Newton's had his chance this year and has dissapointed.

has he really had his chance? 2 games, one in absolutely appalling conditions for key position forwards...

everyone says he's had his chance, and he's no good, I still think he has a lot to offer...

I agree, I really do think he's worth persisting with and he has improved his tackling and workrate immensely this year.

Fixing his goal kicking would go along way to making him a very good addition to our forward line.

He had a very good game and everybody was singing his praises and rightfully so and then he a very poor game and everybody took out the pitchforks and torches asking for his head. Extremely ridiculous and I still think he has a future at the Melbourne Football Club if he continues to work hard on improving his game like he has been.

Thankyou Dez, I've been flying the Juice flag over at Demonland to no avail either... The responses I got were along the lines of either "He's had his chances, not up to it" or "Well we do want Butcher and Scully so lets play him"

He won't be a superstar, but alongside Watts, Jurrah, and Butcher perhaps, could be a great contributor in our forward line.

I think juice has his attribute which would surely be helpful to our side.
His high flying is a bonus at least when you bang it long he will try to get it, if he fails we need a crumber. ATM our foward line has no direction, i could not even name the FF or Key forward against The Filth. While Watts is young and raw we can not expect all from him. I think it should be noted also Juices 2nd efforts actually exist, which didnt last year. Though his kicking hasnt...
