Most likely that watts will be rested and afew guys are down on form so i am expecting afew changes.

Possibly....

In: Warnock, Jones, Maric,
Out: Watts, Bartram, Jetta,

Id like to see Valenti given another game but i dont see it happening

I'm hoping we don't rest Watts yet.

In: Jamar (if available), Warnock, Jones, Maric

Out: Bartram, Whelan, Jetta, Cheney

Jamar has to come in if available.

Warnock back in and throw the Riv man forward.

Jetta out although I'd like to give him another go but Maric is too hard to ignore and shouldn't have been dropped in the first place.

How can it be this hard to make changes to a team that got smashed by 66 points last week and then 48 points Friday night?

Backs: Bennell Warnock Frawley

Half Backs: Rivers Martin Bruce

Center: Morton McLean Green

Half Forwards: Sylvia Miller Bate

Forwards: Davey Jurrah Robertson

Followers: Jamar Moloney Grimes

I/C: PJ, Jones, Maric, Watts

Emergencies: Dunn, Petterd, Cheney

This is pretty much how I'd have it too.

The thing is Dez despite the desire to do a raft of changes I think the best thing for the team is more of a settled line up. Earlier in the season when we were competitive it was only 1-2 changes a week. The old baby out with the bath water saying could come into place here.

It's hard with no VFL performance to go from but I think the only possibly ins would be Jamar, McDonald, Warnock, Jones (all if fit) and Maric and Dunn.

As for potential droppings - Martin, Whelan, Bartram, Cheney, PJ, Robertson, Watts, Jetta, Rivers, Bennell, Miller, Morton would all have to sit somewhere in potential danger territory.

After fridays performance their should be a few changes. i believe whelan needs to go and robbo needs to pull his finger out!

Nice joke, how about we trade Watts for Tom Hawkins?

Yeah, and then trade Hawkins for some black pens perhaps, they could come in handy- or even a new stereo, if we can con somebody into selling one that cheaply. Then let's all go & neck ourselves...

No way Jetta should hold his spot if (as assumed) Jones and J Mac are both fit. He may have a good future, but right now he's not up to it.

If Jamar, Jones, J Mac and Warnock are all passed fit, then Jetta and Bartram should go, and I'd give Watts and PJ a rest (let Martin back-up Jamar in the ruck).

I'd even consider dropping Robbo for Newton.

how mclean seems to escape all this speculation as to who should be dropped confuses me?
the guy was terrible on friday night. nothing against him personally, i just think the game may have slipped past him. i hope i am wrong.
rivers probably falls into the same category.

I agree, if you want the team to actually play as a team, they must have time on the ground together under match conditions. sure handballs will miss targets, but once players get used to each others capabilities or or lack of, you (we) will see more of the positive ball use.

If Melb put a tall forward or even Robbo in the goal square (AND TOLD HIM NOT TO LEAVE IT), then told let's say Jetta, to stay by his side all match, we would then have a dangerous situation for any team to handle, even if the ball is kicked in the normal shit manner. You could do exactly the same setup 35-40 metres out with Miller & Bate.

At the moment we are not winning 50% of forward entries, so I believe doing the above we would at least get to 50%, plus there would be someone there to pressure the opp if they are trying to clear the area.

Brisbane are short on defenders and with only Merret looking like returning soon if we stack out forward line it might force Voss to play Bradshaw in defence which would be a serious win for us

What a joke. Ok Mclean has not been at his best this year and is not the quickets bloke going round but he tries and works hard and avg's 23 touches a game who do you want to come in for him Dunn? (Note jones is already apart of our best 22).

Rivers was great against kosi and cloke the last two weeks and considering the amount of ball inside Ess 50 on Friday nite did a good job against Lucas. Not to mention Rivers makes good decisions, shows courage and adds leadership down the back line.

Merret will be back and Jason Roe played a great game on buddy so he will likely hold down a spot across half back and that will allow bradshaw to stay up forward.

I assume Selwood would of gone to Davey, may be a good opportunity to put Davey accross half forward again see what damage he can do.

Out: Robbo
In: Garfield

At least Garfield the cat should be able to keep his feet.

Seriously, give Dunn at least one whole game as the deep forward. I have a feeling the coaches feel like they're wasting Dunn's attributes if they put him in the square and that's why they persist with playing him up the field. But he's a forward! Newton isn't much better than Robbo when it comes to keeping his feet except at least Newton does it while going for some rediculous mark, not playing for a free.

As much as a hack Miller is, we need him to straighten us up. Simple as that.

Watts to rest

I was at the game so spent more time with my head in my hands than watching the game. How was Cheney? Unfortunatley I think he has to miss again.

Jetta more time in the magoos

Whelan to get a wake up call

FB: Frawley Warnock Martin (But he stays in defence!)
HB: Bennel Rivers Grimes
C: Morton Bruce Davey
HF Sylvia Miller Jurrah
FF Bate Dunn Green
R: Jamar McLean Moloney
I/C: PJ Maric Bartram Jones

In: Warnock, Jones, Maric, Dunn, Jamar
Out: Jetta, Robbo, Whelan, Watts, Cheney

No offense but we covered Franklin and Roughhead without moving Bradshaw back so we should be able to cover your guys.

By reports we should have both Merrett and Patfull playing this week. Drummond is a chance, but we may give him another weeks rest seems he has a history of injuries. Roe and or Hendo will probably keep their spot after a good showing v the Hawks.

Agree with Robbo and twice now in two weels he has gone down like a sack of shit only to get back up 1 minute wit nothing wrong with him.

Cheney was pretty unaccountable on the Friday night, one particular moment stood out/ He charged into the centre square and his opponent (Skipworth) had peeled off him as the ball was being bounced. We turned the ball over and skipworth was 30 metres in the clear, got caught ball watching and being off his man to much for my liking.

Maybe it's just me but to "Capt_Concussion" I say...Martin is a forward in my eyes. He looks more dangerous around goal then he does in the backline. Not only that but, our backline is pretty strong as it is (when we're injury free that is)
