Top 4 spot up for grabs next Sunday afternoon.

I'll be going in hopeful but not confident, the Giants will be looking to bounce back after their loss to the Bombers + apparently Lachie Whitfield will be back in. A win away from home against one of the flag fancies would be GARGANTUAN!

Outs- Brandon Starcevich.
Ins- Alex Witherden.

If the Big O doesn't get up I wouldn't be for Archie having another crack in such an important game, if they want another tall in I'd go with Connor Ballenden, has been named on the extended bench a couple of times so must be close and he can play forward back or ruck.

If they want to go smaller either leave Starcevich in or bring in Tom Berry.

I think we’ll bring in a third tall backman to take care of Finlayson, Cameron and Himmelberg. I’d be tempted to play Payne instead of Lester and Witherden should come in for Starcevich.

Not sure who replaces Oscar. Bad time for Ballenden to be injured. Maybe Walker.

Witherden in for Starcevich

Someone will have to come in for Omac. I really dislike the Archie smith and Stefan Martin combo but think that's what the coaches will go with.

If it was me I'd bring Walker as a ruck/Forward. He's done it well before.

I stayed till the boys went up the race after the game and the O looked quite good strolling around out there with the guys, you never know he might come up OK.

I didn't think of Sam Skinner when I suggested Ballenden in the OP, if it was me at the selection table I'd be going with in order- Skinner > Ballenden(if fit) > Walker > Archie if the O is out.

IMO Marcus Adams will need another couple of weeks in the NEAFL after such a long lay off.

Didn't see him open his mouth during the song & didn't look too good to me. Hope he's OK.

Could Hippy be in any trouble for his hit off the ball? Didn't seem to be much in it but with the MRO. Who knows?

from the replays it looked as much dive as it was force, but yes with the MRO who knows. It's almost as much pot luck as the score review

Witherden and Adams for Starcevich and Omac.

Thought McStay looked ok in the ruck when Oscar went off, Adams will come in if he's ready, very good player when he's up and running.

Adams interesting one. You think he be in the starting 22 just when they think he is ready.
Berry came straight back after his knee.

If Big O out I go Martin and Adams in we prob need a third tall defender against GWS.
You think Walker on the outer and Adams, Skinner and Payne ahead of him now.

If not Adams then you think Skinner.
Starc I like to keep in although you think Witho has the runs the board. Answerth and Bailey got their chances while Starc injured.
A lot of pressure on spots now.. be interesting what Fagan does.
A good place to be in. Just picking the correct players.
If if you look at the last 2 weeks Cameron 5 goals in 10-15 mins of play and Hipwood 5 goals in like 12 mins. McStay, Rayner or Linc next week :)

The biggest plus today was the midfield and that we were prepared to run through the corridor and the overlap handballs were sensational, especially in the second half. We appear to have left the turgid and predictable slow chip game around the wing behind. Well coached Fagan.

On the Rayner question, people are going to continue to get frustrated with the way Fagan is managing him, because he is attempting to play him “into form” in the Seniors, when many have believed he needs to get his confidence up in the reserves. After a largely invisible first quarter, Fagan moved Rayner about again searching for kicks, which is something he does quite regularly. Today he eventually gathered 16 disposals, had a very nice inside 50 (3 for game) and featured two handball chains that looked good. The problem was that he badly stunk it up a couple of times and his overall disposal efficiency was only 56%. The AFL Website ranked him as our 16th best player and that’s about right. Looks like Fagan is going to continue to select Rayner no matter what, but until he shows some regular form, maybe even making it into our top 6 or 7 players occasionally, people are going to question whether the coach is putting the player before the team and they have every reason to. Let’s see how Rayner goes against GWS.

I am really looking forward to this test. I am also looking forward to going in as underdog, much more comfortable there. Huge chance to make a statement and GWS are gettable. Don't like they have the extra 3 days break on us, but if we are good enough, it shouldn't matter. Big opportunity and I am strangely optimistic we can give it a red hot go.
