I am really looking forward to this test. I am also looking forward to going in as underdog, much more comfortable there. Huge chance to make a statement and GWS are gettable. Don't like they have the extra 3 days break on us, but if we are good enough, it shouldn't matter. Big opportunity and I am strangely optimistic we can give it a red hot go.

I've decided that I'm going to be philosophical and relaxed about our remaining away games.

After spending a small fortune to travel to the big smoke to see us lose to the Blues and feeling shattered as a result, I am now of the belief that it's better just to sit back and treat any other wins away as bonuses. That's what I did when we played the Saints and didn't that work out well.

This season has been a blast so even if we somehow miss finals from here, it's still been a winner for me.

Need experience against GWS and a back up ruck for Martin. Smith was next to useless in his two games so I’d go with Walker to assist Martin. Starcevich was so off the pace today it wasn’t funny and if Fagan is true to his word about guys being rewarded, then Bastinac is the logical choice.

Rayner was clanger king today (two butchered kicks out of defence, one goal hungry attempt when he had clear options inside and a terrible miss that most junior players would kick as examples) but we know Rayner is Teflon so he doesn’t get dropped. Ideally, I’d bring in Cox for him.

If the Big O gets up I would be inclined to drop Starcevich for Witherden. Whitfield is expected to return for GWS. As said above I am going into this next round with belief we can scare GWS and I had this one penciled in as a L. To a certain extent you could look from the start of the season and say the ones we expected to lose we have given it a crack and won (except collingwood game) Ones we expected to win as the season progressed we lost. So I can see our team give a real good crack. If the cold bug struck our team this week we did well to get the win. For the record i had Eagles, Power, crows, Demons and magpies as losses at the start of the season and really had us at 6-8 not 9-5!

But one week of Charlie kicking 5 then Hippy kicking 5 makes me wonder what happens in a game where they both kick 5 each!

The Giants have plenty of tall forwards who are playing well so Walker comes in. With The Big O likely to miss do we play two rucks?

I wouldn't. Martin has rucked solo before and McStay can do a bit.

Another tall up froward? Adams surely underdone so 3KZ's love child Bastinac deserves a promotion for outstanding reserves form.

Whitfield is a huge in for them ,plus they're fresh and stinging after this week's performance so a win here would be huge . Not really expecting it ,just hoping.

I'd be staggered if Oscar played , it's commonsense that he be given at least a week off . The only thing I'll say as a replacement is please don't play Archie , he didn't impress me in the twos on Saturday ,think he has a lot of work ahead to get himself up to Senior standard. I'd be inclined to go with Payne ,definitely Eagles if he was available ,he can ruck ,but it is what it is. Give Adams another week at least. Tommy Berry will be knocking the door down by season's end

I guess Witherden comes in and Starc misses out.

The biggest plus today was the midfield and that we were prepared to run through the corridor and the overlap handballs were sensational, especially in the second half. We appear to have left the turgid and predictable slow chip game around the wing behind. Well coached Fagan.

On the Rayner question, people are going to continue to get frustrated with the way Fagan is managing him, because he is attempting to play him “into form” in the Seniors, when many have believed he needs to get his confidence up in the reserves. After a largely invisible first quarter, Fagan moved Rayner about again searching for kicks, which is something he does quite regularly. Today he eventually gathered 16 disposals, had a very nice inside 50 (3 for game) and featured two handball chains that looked good. The problem was that he badly stunk it up a couple of times and his overall disposal efficiency was only 56%. The AFL Website ranked him as our 16th best player and that’s about right. Looks like Fagan is going to continue to select Rayner no matter what, but until he shows some regular form, maybe even making it into our top 6 or 7 players occasionally, people are going to question whether the coach is putting the player before the team and they have every reason to. Let’s see how Rayner goes against GWS.

Especially as he had a decent game and just let down by his goal kicking. A couple of clangers but every player has them. Looks to be slowly building towards a break out game.

Big O I'd like to see someone like Adams or Payne debut but probably best to go the safe option in Walker
