We’ve got the Swans game in between those two, that’ll be a good test for us.

We should start underdogs against the Swans. We have been poor in Sydney last two years (loss to cats in 2020, loss to demons in 2021). I'd be mildly to moderately surprised if we win.

Should be another tough test this weekend. Gold Coast look to have a more established brand this season, I was particularly impressed with how they looked against the Demons in round 2. Think they could upset a few teams at Metricon this season. Predicting a tight first half where we eventually pull away to win by about 3 goals. Important to bank 4 points here with a tough game to follow against the Swans at the SCG in Round 7.

The remainder of the season does look a very challenging fixture. Only 2 of our next 7 at the gabba then a lot of games against fellow finals contenders over the last 10 games.

I'm happy that we don't seem to have played overly well and have still won 4 games. We need to improve a lot in the back half of the year to get a home final in the Top 4. Of course that's what we're hoping and expecting.

Port and Bombers both supposed to be on the way up. So on paper it seemed balanced.
Pies not as bad as some said they be
Blues been good and Freo as there always teams who player better than expected and teams that drop away.
Some teams start bad and some finish crap. So not where they are in 2021 it is where they are when we play them.
Which makes the fixture weird. We play GWS, Saints and Melb twice past round 11.
So will the saints still be up.. Will GWS turn around.

Worth noting for those wanting to drop Gardiner that prior to this round we were the third best side in the competition in terms of restricting conceded shots on goal per inside 50 behind Melbourne and GWS (and we could possibly slip ahead of GWS after this round looking at this round's stats). Considering the support that our midfield has given our defence at times this season, I think that's an indication that our current defensive setup is doing its job.
