Strikes me as a big game player and would be interesting to see what he does.
We know Jones aint really an answer this year, and can we just forget about Linc.
Also its time to bring in Z.Smith. See if we can stretch the Tiges with 2 proper rucks.
Not really expecting to win so worth trying a couple of things.

The way i see it is we aren't realistically going to go to far in finals just doing what we're doing.
We need to find that extra difference. 2 rucks could be just that.
We've got nothing to lose anyway.

I doubt they will make too many changes with the vfl team having the bye.

Sounds like Stewart will be out and Henry will go back. Dont need extra kpds or a 2nd ruck against Richmond. Probably Crameri or McCarthy in to fill the vacant fwd spot, i doubt they will pick Thurlow i tend to think his papers are stamped.

Please put Scooter as a hard tag on Martin don't let him run free.

I think Guthrie played on Martin in the QF and did a pretty good job until he got injured, which in turn allowed Martin to go nuts.

Personally I'd like to see Guthrie to Martin and Scooter to Cotchin; if we can shut those two down then we're a big chance, plus then they have to worry about how they're going to stop Ablett, Selwood, Dangerfield, Duncan, Kelly, Menegola.... This is where we'll win it.

If Harry Taylor is fit, he comes in for Tom Stewart and Jack Henry goes to defence and Harry goes forward.

Thurlow comes in, Or Crameri comes in and goes Forward and Henry goes to defence. .

Do not bring Taylor in unless he is 100% right to go.
Going to be a tough enough slog without being a man down mid match.
Otherwise I’m for being Crameri in to be the other big forward option, because Hawk is going to get double tagged this week. No the ways about it

Not just because it’s hawthorn, although that makes it a bit sweeter, but because we are likely fighting them for a spot and it would be a genuine 8 point game.

We need to address how we set up at opposition kickouts. I’ve been saying this for months now, and I agree 100% with you about Brisbane yesterday.
We give up so much easy territory by not manning up. If you watch the replay from yesterday, Brisbane just kicked a 15-20 metre short pass to a free man (often boundary side) then because all our defenders are standing on the defensive 50 metre line, they were able to run and carry to the 50, then unload a 50 metre kick to their half forward line without any pressure whatsoever.
The opposition have been doing this to us for a while now, and I am perplexed as to why something so obvious is allowed to happen. Is Scott that stubborn that he can’t change to man on man at kickouts?
Guthrie is a huge problem. He just jogs around at half pace, and that’s not what you want to see from someone who’s often given a defensive role. The message doesn’t seem to be getting through to him. There’s no urgency or fervour in his game.
Richmond’s smalls are going to kill him if he gets a defensive role
Henry MUST go back this week. He’s so competitive, and loves the physical stuff. He’ll be a good match up for Riewoldt. He’s strong and has good closing speed at a marking contest. Hendo may be too ‘one dimensional’
Crameri in to help Hawk with the double tag, Scooter to Cotchin and get really physical and Menegola to Dusty.
That leaves Ablett, Skip, Danger, Parfitt, and Kelly to the offensive stuff
Kelly might even be a good match for Dusty. He’s strong in close and physically strong at one on ones

Why not throw one of these guys into the fire?

Miers is our VFL leading goalkicker I think and we could do a Richmond* to Richmond if we name him.

Stewart is a huge loss for this game and it will make all the difference, we really cannot replace him, not against the Tiges that's for sure. Cats need three wins out of the last four to be safe and possibly finish 5th, we will go very close in this one. The Tigers might just be in for a let down after the huge big game against the Pies. Richmond's 2nd and 3rd tier players rarely get less than 10 possessions, it's a solid team, but they are not unbeatable at the MCG. I would like to see Constable make a debut, I don't know what they will do about the Stewart replacement!!

If Richmond are at all serious about this game we will lose by 11 goals. Good thing is they just had a big game against the pies and now have the record for most consecutive wins at the G outright. They might be on a downer and can still lose and have the double chance. If they are chasing top spot ala cats 07,08 it might hinder their premiership chances, so maybe they don't mind losing this one. That's our only chance! Any talk about about ins, game plan and if we get our game going etc.. is all wasted time. We can only win if tigers have a downer, because they're the best and we are average.

Yeah agree. I just found out he won't be fit so I'd be keen for Crameri as a in..

Look In another subject but Henry I personally didn't think he was awesome yesterday in attack. In my eye he looks more comfortable in defence .
I hope yesterday it's a start for Menzel in kicking goals. Hope Crameri comes in the 3 can combine as they will heavily try stop Hawkins in having 2 or 3 blokes on him.

I don’t rate Crameri. But slow is one thing he’s not.

Was weird watching him in the VFL earlier in the year. Spent time in the midfield and looks like a tortoise. Put him in the forward line and was more of a hare.

Truly bizarre to watch.

Jesus we sound like Carlton supporters with people saying "id be happy to lose by a few goals".

Losing shouldn't be acceptable under any circumstance.

It's unlikely we will win but I won't be happy to lose at all.
