Is anyone else worried with J-Lo's "horses for courses" call on Rucks last week after Jackson smashed Briggs, that they'll bring Darcy back v Witts?

I dont agree with the theory Jackson cant play against bigger, stronger rucks. If anything, I think it means he is an even bigger advantage at ground level as an extra midfielder at the centre bounce, with the lumbering opposition ruckman completely exposed.

I can see Xerri and Gawn presenting problems, but then again, they've done that to the entire comp and as a result are leading the coaches votes award. Apart from those two, I'd back Jackson in every week to effectively give us 4 mids at the centre bounce, and thus help us win the clearance battle.

Think Young should rotate off half back. He’s still not going to be the midfielder he was until end of the season.

I’m undecided on Pearce.

At the end of the day the Port player put himself in a horrible spot. You just know he’ll get 3 weeks. We’ll challenge and lose.

At some stage the AFL needs to consider players putting themselves in these positions.

Brave? Yes. However, that doesn’t mean you get protected because you’re a split second to the ball quicker.

Still think he’ll get done.

Need better footage form different angles, the initial contact wasnt his head it was shoulder/arm, to shoulder/arm , but the port players head does come forward, impossible to tell from the vision broadcast if AP did get his head, if it was the head coming forward and touching AP or if there was no contact at all to the head and it just looks bad. Initially I thought no head high contact but its not possible to rule it out after watching it a bunch of times due to the angle.

Given our history with the MRO I think JL is being very optimistic, more likely to get weeks than not regardless of what actually happened.

Yeah, but unfortunately that defence doesn't work if history is any guide. . I just saw the replay and it's like the Peter Wright one from last year, and the AFL set the precedent then that the guy approaching has a duty of care even though the bloke in front is backing back with no concerns for his own safety.
Wright should never have been suspended, nor should Pearce, but I reckon like Wright he will be

Wright is much later to the ball and is in a brace/bumping posture very early, AP doesn't really brace at all, has his arms out to mark the ball and his eyes track the ball the entire time, only turns his leg at the last minute to kind of brace for impact.

Clearly though if the AFL see them as the same AP is gone for 3+ weeks. Just as we start playing well ffffffffffffffffffff
