70mm of rain in a day is actually unreal, when was the last time WA had that in a week haha...
Uh, one day in Feb if you’re down south! Rained cats and dogs, like the sky had found a new raison d’être, like we were gunna have to start building arks. Manhole covers popping off the sewers at work, and we’re on top of a hill.

This sounds like enough rain its an absolute shitfest and a complete toss up. Great chance to pinch 4 points with a bye to recover
Rainfall is a bit different over here Snuff. In Townsville we had 700mm in the first three days of February. A little town up the road called Paluma had 745mm in one day and over 2 metres for February.

I know!! Was it reported somewhere, you have an inside scoop, or are you psychic?

I think it's crazy throwing Darcy and Fyfe to the wolves and I would have taken McDonald over Draper so I disagree with all 3 ins.
It’s gone under the radar a bit due to the madness of the other two ins… but geez I reckon Omac is stiff to be behind Draper.

Draper has been very poor this year, and Omac has come in and done a job in every position asked, as a one off one week play to lockdown a forward, give me Omac any day.

I understand we have injuries and somewhat restricted with our changes, but these changes are so uninspiring and seem like an enormous step backwards.

Too tall again, two rucks again, Fyfe instantly in is extremely questionable in itself.

Darcy and Fyfe need to build there touch and base via Peel.

I can live with Draper over O'Mac

The only justification for these changes is a win. Or damn close to a win.

My problem with the Darcy selection is not the Jackson/Darcy two ruckmen media narrative, it’s that we have a long body of evidence of Darcy returning from injury at this point and he always takes time to regain match fitness.

I don’t get why we make some of our higher profile players return via Peel, but Darcy who is probably the #1 player I would have returning from injury via the ressies based on his history, ALWAYS gets rushed straight in to the team and he always sucks in his first couple games back.

Not to mention the rain and the returning of another unfit player. This looks like a real selection own-goal.

Darcy in a way is a victim of poor management from the club. He's constantly rushed back in, despite it being well known he needs a few weeks to gain his touch back. Second time this season we've made this known error.

Fyfe has played on wafl game and got injured in 2025, now he is instantly in?

We're far, far too nice.

exactly why reward for effort seems non-existent at this club, or at best, extremely inconsistent.

Surely Darcy a late out for Aish… it’s gonna be an absolute grind. Would rather blokes like Aish that tackle and are clean in the wet.
Aish flying as emergency again..you'd just hate to fall into that cycle. How else do you prove yourself especially when it means you can't play the Peel game. I still reckon he has a lot to give.

Does Darcy get any love for not allowing Witts to dominate?
I thought our best periods were when Jacko was in the ruck, he was huge. Darcy was ok, but the guy had 3 disposals and barely ticked over 50% TOG for the game - in modern footy that simply isn’t enough output from your 2nd ruckman to justify a place in the side.
He’s your 22nd player, and you get more out of a Dudley type as that final player in the team.

We were brilliant early with Darcy rucking and Jackson as a midfielder. It worked, you got it wrong.

So you’re happy to continue paying 700k a year to a second ruckman playing 50% TOG? It worked once, but it’s not sustainable. Jacko is the number 1 guy, and he’ll leave if he isn’t given the keys.
It may not always work, but it worked once from one try since you commented 300 times that it would never work. $700k will be lower-mid salary by the time the contract expires.

That doesn't answer my question. His stats don't tell the tale of how his bullocking in the ruck prevented Witts dominating those ruck contests. Jackson achieved the same result by jumping over him. Both our ruckmen worked to negatively impact Witts performance. That was a win for Freo.
