Dunno. I say similar things to this after a deplorable performance and then the following Saturday at 1:30pm I find myself at the Spencer St Outlet myki gates in full North gear wondering how I got there

The amount of times I’ve walked out of that stadium, thinking to myself, that’s it, time to get a new hobby - something more in your own control.

Then somehow around Thursday I start getting that itch again…

Someone please remind Jack Silvagni we have long memories, preferably in a physical type of way, followed by a bit of verbal mayo, maybe Bull 1st cab off the rank.

Not sure which North is coming to play this weekend, the normal all-talk no action good-Friday team or the very rarely sighted, let's play for 4 quarters team.

Changes mean very little, but we must, at the very least, drop players who were poor, we cannot continue to reward mediocrity.

McKercher, Logue, Stephens out.

Stephens is now getting the ball and can kick it to advantage but is so frickin slow.
Logue has been pants for two weeks.
McKercher needs a spell, didn't do much defensively or offensively.

K. Dawson or Pink in, both in better form than Logue.
Wardlaw in.
Hardeman gets a full game but better learn how to tackle.
McKercher may be a good sub, can break lines and make things happen. Otherwise go and light up the twos and force your way back in.

Daniel and Fisher are defensively fragile. Honestly I thought Fisher was more damaging than Daniel against the Suns and I don't think we can afford both or either of them in the team. Ben Long, Vandermeer, Chandler, Hayward, are all med-small forwards who dined out against us. I think they will both stay in because they are "older" players and I think that is a travesty.
Duursma is a bit lackadaisical but then who isn't on our team. Check out the captain's kick just as we were mounting a comeback. At least Duursma in 2nd gear will snag a few goals. Hopefully he can show a bit more intent and get a few bigger bags but ATM he is young and still coming off a shoulder reco. If he follows PC, Darling and Parker, he'll blossom.

Agree but I think outside of Scott last week we don't do that. It's usually just the same players dropped/made accountable while other more senior but consistently poor senior players escape it.

I've said already I would 100% drop Zurhaar.

I would also play Pink. Logue should be out but he won't be.

McKercher as a sub isn't a bad call as the contested stuff is definitely more of an issue over the first 2.5/3 quarters of the game, usually things open up once everyone is tired and the pressure around the ball reduces. That said, don't think we should be rewarding someone like McKercher who isn't putting his body on the the line for the club which is an insult to his teammates, the coaching staff as well as the fans who pay their money and renew their memberships every year.

AFL Reserve tickets for R6 Roos v Blues on Good Friday are exhausted. General admission is not available. AFL Members must have an upgraded ticket to attend.
I hope this doesnt mean spare seats will / have been sold to opposition supporters.

Had 3 Sydney nuffies talking smack behind us all game 2 weeks back, infuriating when you're in the front few rows of level 2 members area supposedly sold out.

Line in the sand North. Stand up, or alot of people will walk away.
Make a bloody statement, because a week later it's no easier.
Our marquee game ? IIRC we've beaten St.Kilda on this grand day, once.

Please make us all believe again, for a week at least.
I am actually concerned about this, I reckon North have used up their goodwill with supporters. Most are done with this rubbish.

A bad showing this weekend in our marquee game against an average Carlton and I reckon there are many north supporters that will disengage for the rest of the year.

Me included.

So form lines stack up pretty well so far in 2025.
Very few upsets.

Saints have had a couple.
Port over Hawks is one, albeit at home.
Geelong over Crows.

Otherwise it’s been pretty straightforward.

The obvious one is Carlton’s loss to Richmond, but that match aside they stuck with Hawthorn and faded late, faded once more against the Dogs and lost to the Pies by 3 goals.
Then took care of West Coast.

Our form stacked up well for the first 3 rounds and then has nose dived the past two weeks.

Whilst I have some slight optimism, the feeling I get about Carlton is similar to the Sydney game.
Not playing their best and missing a few but their form isn’t as bad as the media suggests.

We’re up against it.
Agree. Take the North glasses off for a second... 1 win from 6 after a loss to us is an absolutely diabolical result for Carlton.

They'll be amped up for a win.

Don’t get your hopes up. We’ll only win 1 more game before the bye and that’ll probably be Richmond.

But we’ll win about 6 games second half of the season finishing with 8 wins.

Especially difficult to process when we're playing in the Barossa at that time.

For a start, no long bombs to Weitering
Just don't..

I could understand our forwards getting done in contests.

What kills is early in a game especially when watching on tellie having some early run of play yet picking out some surprised looking oppo defender standing all alone while Larkey and Co look on with mouths agape and dicks in hands.

What would you rather? Being amongst the opposition supporters talking smack and a bit of banter or your own lot of 'supporters' and their petulant meltdowns at anything and everything?

Biggest game in a while for the club. And we're going to have to beat both the umps and Carlton. I've already accepted they are probably going to get at least 7 more free kicks
Strange take re the umpiring. It's a bit like a cricket team that whinges about copping too many LBW's. Stop getting hit on the pads - problem solved.
