Strange take re the umpiring. It's a bit like a cricket team that whinges about copping too many LBW's. Stop getting hit on the pads - problem solved.

Not really. We can be shit and the umpires can be too/corrupt. Both things can be true.

Remember the 2023 match against them? As corrupt as I have ever seen.

Just please play for 4 whole quarters.
None of this dropping off partway through the 3rd.

No silly, silly turnover to kill the momentum and drop the heads.

Yes play our game to the best or near our capabilities is all we want

Blues defence don’t look to have much rebound outside of saad.

Win the clearances and that should be a big tick for victory.

And win more 50/50 balls and ground balls. It’s where we got badly beaten in the first half last week.
Even Dermie was talking about GC just going down the line and not doing anything special but winning contests

Carlton are actually going ok on many of the champion data metrics and they absolutely smashed West Coast despite being two down for most of the game.

The market is right, they should be favorites and it's going to be a tough ask to win this one.
Yep. They are better than us on forward and defence. I reckon the midfield breaks even. If we play the same brand of footy as we have the last month. We’ll get done.

I dont think its that winnable.

I thought Sydney was winnable. Couldnt even be competitive

I think we really don't like pressure or expectations to win especially with good Friday and Carlton's win and loss numbers.

So as soon as Carlton bring the pressure which they have been all year we will get scared and turn to butter. Add some doubt in there and watch us quickly put the cue in the rack.

It shows we haven't mentally trained our players to handle all types of pressure. We cant expect to have it all soft and cuddly just to protect our weakness and this is why i dislike the constant excuses and fluffy bullshit spewed out constantly. It just helps facilitate their lack of ability to handle the above.

We've copped it bad from them on Good Friday in particular though. Usually I reserve some level of sympathy for umpires because it really is a tough job, but when you blow the whistle because you think a player didn't bounce the ball on his run, or when you don't blow the whistle after seeing someone's head ripped off without the player in possession contributing to it, or when you whistle for holding frees up one end that don't get paid up the other, you deserve the shit that comes your way. It's our biggest game of the year and we've been ****ing crucified by them twice, particularly in 2023

Surely the Blues bring Lewis Young back in to replace McKay and will proceed to kick 6 himself.

We should have someone to play within cooee of Saad at all times, either they give it to him and he's off, or he does the old give and get and he's off, don't get fooled by what you already know, maybe Konstanty can lay a few decent tackles on him to reduce his appetite for the pill a bit.

Especially difficult to process when we're playing in the Barossa at that time.

Long drive back from the Barossa, particularly after we got pulled over by the SA Border Force driving there and I was asked to answer some questions regarding some apples …

I asked the Border Force member who he barracked for at the end, and he said, the team that took our best player … I was about to say that we still have Sheezel, but was in enough trouble, so walked quietly back to the car.

Anyway, at least we are scoring more freely and it is great to see the ultimate professional in Parker play and to think that FOS could be the best of them all.

Agree but I think outside of Scott last week we don't do that. It's usually just the same players dropped/made accountable while other more senior but consistently poor senior players escape it.

I've said already I would 100% drop Zurhaar.

I would also play Pink. Logue should be out but he won't be.

McKercher as a sub isn't a bad call as the contested stuff is definitely more of an issue over the first 2.5/3 quarters of the game, usually things open up once everyone is tired and the pressure around the ball reduces. That said, don't think we should be rewarding someone like McKercher who isn't putting his body on the the line for the club which is an insult to his teammates, the coaching staff as well as the fans who pay their money and renew their memberships every year.

I would want Colby playing a full game in the VFL and have Phillips alongside him and play as a full time mid. He needs to be taught.

Kangas will beat Carlton this Friday.

Yes, I'm aware that the team lost badly. Some players are horribly out of form, we are looking at you Colby.

But Carlton is a shite squad, coached by shite gameday coach and conditioned by shite nobody who can't prepare them to run more than a half.

Carlton can't kick straight. They have limited scoring routes, dump kick to Curnow. And Brody Kemp is gone for the year. Their smalls are laughably bad, not AFL level.

Souvlaki will get Weitering and Jsos on Zuuhar. That frees up Paul Curtis to carve them up. I also think Konstanty gets 2 goals.

LDU regaining form. Ditto for Sheez. Return of Wardlaw, praying for this, means Kangas has enough firepower in the middle and certainly stamina to run out the game.

In case you are wondering if I'm trolling, I posted on the Crows forum last year, predicting an upset against the Blues. No one believed it until it happened.
