I might be in the minority, but I'd like to see Jackson play another game in the VFL, looked pretty rusty to me.
i'm fine with that too

just as long as we drop dawson for anyone be it whitlock/wawson etc

then archer can come in the week after for that player along with chom

I would only like to see a couple of changes.

Kawson and Fisher to be omitted.

Zurhaar potentially pending a fitness test.

Keep RHJ as a sub, rather than a start. I think he's the player most likely to impact as sub.

Can't really bring Whitlock in and put him anywhere near Curnow or McKay at this stage of his career

He wouldn’t be on them
He’d be on the third tall
Im certainly not advocating for his inclusion this week but from 2VFL games, Trembath has kicked 3 goals playing forward, and then 9 marks to go with 18 touches playing back on the weekend. Physically developed lad, wonder if he could get a few games by seasons end.

No changes .

Especially if no Magoo and Curnow.

Only Bull if he needs a spell.
Zurhaar should take the spell, we need him to play the season out.

there is no way kal dawson should play another game for the club

I'm not sure Hardeman would be out. I'd say, half a game in or whatever he is, he's almost already our most capable two-way player who plays as a natural defender. FOS is already a sound defender but is a kind of def/mid hybrid.

I was super pumped when we picked him up because he had an amazing year in his draft year but he is a bit underweight, if they push "3 Votes Cripps" forward (if they also had their key forwards) then the job is going to go to a medium defender and Hardeman is in the wrong weight division for that battle. Goater is closer to him in terms of height and weight. We also have FOS down there and he is a featherweight but he is very highly skilled. In a perfect world, we wouldn't be as reliant on players who need time to put the weight on and condition to AFL standards.

I also think, with Curnow and McKay's troubles, our 'lack of a backline' doesn't overly factor in. We should be able to cover them, even if Curnow has a recovery back to something approaching a decent level of fitness. Frankly, I'd prefer him to be close to full fitness so that we're switched on and alert.

McKay I think has knee issues and hasn't been running so I would say he is a zero chance of playing and Curnow was subbed off with calf tightness and and underwent a scan. He needs his spring imo, it is a big part of his game and he hasn't carried leg problems and played well in the past from my memory. I think if they play him we will have to assume he is good to go, I guess we will get a better idea when they train on Thursday, I assume he would be rested before then.

Course, I might be wrong and Curnow might destroy us in a half on a bung leg or not on a bung leg, but we have to be approaching this believing we can go with them in all parts of the ground. Because we can

Ultimately it is going to come down if we pressure and tackle, I think if we pressure and tackle like we did last week then it becomes harder for the opposition to score. Last time we played McKay kicked 5 and Curnow 4. The greater issue was the large group of seagulls we allowed to kick goals against us because our pressure was dogshit. They had 11 goal kickers that game, we only kicked 12 goals. If we let Owies kick 3, Durdin 2 and then the flotsam chip in with goals then it is just shit footy. You can cop a really good forward kicking a few goals.

The pressure and tackling has been more of a focus but it wasn't that flash against the Eagles so atm we don't know what kind of mindset the team will have when they take the field.

Carlton has two wins against West Coast, one against us and wins over Essendon, Saints and Geelong. They aren't exactly flying atm, like a lot of games this year for us I think this is one that we can win, it is just hard to win the games we should win when we shoot ourselves in the foot with just horrible kicking into the forward line.

I do not know if this will mean anything to the boys but they owe the supporters a good contest this weekend.

It only means if I set my expectations at getting that, previous experience suggests I’ll be let down. Potentially severely.

Imma go in expecting f*** all. Sometimes when I do this I’m still disappointed but the fall is less.

I want to see the collective step up and say f*** it and win. I just don’t think we’re there yet.

can’t wait for this game

especially looking forward to when we should be 40 points up cause the balls been in our foward half the whole time and then they get a cheap free and go on a run and we lose by 20 and take our honourable loss.
even though we have been having honourable losses for 3 years and we just don’t win these types of games
