Unofficial Preview Changes and pre match discussion vs Greater Western Sydney

Hardeman has been on managed minutes in the VFL.

He hasn't played a full VFL game yet. That's no full games this season since the intra club. I think he's suited up twice in that period.

Conspiracy theories and uninformed outrage need to be tempered by reality.

A link between Blamires and Spargo spots is completley invented.

There is none.

Blamires is going out coz a) someone had to come in for FoS and b) they don't want Blamires to get injured because he's fatigued and carrying things.

Spargo is in because his best form is premiership winning team worthy and they want to help him build back up to that level.
Well mission accomplished. Spargo had 7 touches in that “premiership” 5 years ago with 1 tackle. On the weekend he had 10 touches and 0 tackles. I would say he is back to his “level”. watch out GWS.

I didn’t really watch the game vs tuggers last week. Im really interested to know how bad Blamires played. I didn’t really see him in conversations around here. I really dont like him being dropped.
He was invisible in the first half and worked very hard/was everywhere in the second half.

That’s fair enough and yet we brought LMac and Corr straight in to the seniors off limited or no pre-season minutes. We pick and choose who is made to earn their spot, and that’s fine, let’s just not pretend that it’s otherwise.

I doubt it's a conspiracy. Likely just not setting Hardeman up to fail.

It's just logic. Nothing more sinister.

How many years need to pass before we consider that that year was an anomaly rather than the standard?

No topline quickness + beer gut + physical weakness + no 40m kick + little historical scoreboard impact = shitmen. Literally no other club is going after him in the offseason. We probably wouldn't have either if not for his old man

Not that Blamires himself is the difference at all, but I have a bad feeling that we are going to be punished for pissing around at selection. Some senior fellas are gonna have their flaws exposed on Sunday coming up against a decent team.

I don't think he is the worst player in the side atm, but idk he kind of gives me Liam Anthony vibes. Small sample size of course, maybe it is a bit unfair but he has averaged 0.3 spoils per game so far, that is the same as Duursma and he only played half a game down back this season.

I think he has been solid coming out of D50 but defensively he makes Daniels look like David Dench, you know, I guess nobody is going to criticise you for failing in any one on one contests if you never make it to a one on one contest.

I think our back six has been an ongoing crisis management and throwing guys like Parker and Zurhaar back are kind of a cry for help. I think if he was good defensively speaking then I doubt the club would have dropped him.

I dont know why Daniels or Spargo are in the side, but if we had Archer, Goater and Hardiman have a strong pre-season and not have any injury issues would the team look how it has been of late? I doubt it. I think it is critical for them that we get them on the park and they stay on the park as soon as we can.

On the other hand 7 different players to last year
Larks Curtis corr Dova Spargo Jy lmac

From Rd 22 last year. Sheezus.

Here comes North Melbourne.

It’s really Zurhaar over Blamires, though, isn’t it?

Blamires has been on a wing, a bit down back and doing pretty well (I thought). He has to be injured cos the decision is ludicrous on face value.

I don’t trust us.

Not fully, but there are now players who you now can.

We just need to hold for 3Q's and then I back us to run allll over them in the last once we get a sniff.

I can feel it.

They have always blasted out of the blocks And kicked v accurately
5 changes is unsettling for any team
We have been known to play their old blokes into form
What about Kerch on Callaghan ?

How about just running George Wardlaw with him? He'll be exhausted having to beat LDU and Wardlaw to the ball.

Or perhaps just have Caleb Daniel bite his ankles.

Saw Ds last night
Very hard to believe they are rated above us And the Pies for that matter

If the drafted all improve 10% plus we pick up the odd player and we actually have a few backline defenders to choose from then we should be better than last year

We were not completely hopeless last year but were pathetic at actually Winning
Next step is to perform under pressure

Parker , Lmac , Zurhaar and Daniel as our mid / small defenders , against a side with a plethora of attacking small forwards is worrying.

Could be wrong, but when we are travelling we seem to lean into experience / older blokes. Playing the kids at home and oldies away makes some sense in terms of protecting the developing kids and keeping their confidence up. To have that sort of flexibility and still be, fingers crossed, competitive shows we've come a fair way with our list over the last couple of years.

Kerch can play back
Have seen Jy there and Stephens works back as well
We have a few options
No one seems that fussed their best backs are out Thats one reason why they are going bad
