We do look a bit short in the backline though.

I’m broadly supportive of the changes (would’ve done it a little different, but glad something has happened), and I think if there’s a game you can afford to do it it’s against Port whose forward line is not gigantic, buuuuutttt…

This exposes a couple of things:


1. It forces Comben to play man on man, which is far from his strength.

2. I actually really like Kal Dawson, but he doesn’t play overly tall. Strength is more his agility I would’ve thought (though obviously he has height). Leaving him with Comben (weak 1v1), Kal needs to step up where he’s probably more suited to third tall.

3. Given the above, it wouldn’t surprise me to see someone like Finlayson swung up forward (played down back in Round 1) at stages to expose us big time.

Kal is pretty bad at spoiling - which is pretty much the job he’s payed for.

His best position is Lmac or Tucker role

The majority of the side can be thankful that they have not been dropped. But I feel no sympathy for those that have been dropped, even if some others are more deserving.

Being less s*** than others should not be a reason for having the privalege of putting on the North guernsey.

Especially when you're a senior player with 8+ years in the AFL.

Would be happy to see more of these sorts of axings if this rot continues.
