Is that the criticism of LDU?

It’s his disposal quality, holding onto the ball too long and defensive efforts for me. He is elite at finding the ball in the contest.

Don’t you reckon it’d be easier for him to use his elite attributes if he had more support? He had a game high of 18 contested possessions and 6 tackles, 21 CBA’s, most on the ground, one more than Xerri. In my reckoning, that kind of physical exertion limits his ability to use his explosive power and skill because he’s absolutely knackered. Go back and look at the last quarter against Essendon, he was exhausted, still kept going though.

He’s a jet and we’re not seeing the best of him because he doesn’t get enough rest.

Rest him more and select a bloke at random to play in the middle in his place then. It's not like we ever make midfield dominance count anyway, so why not keep him as fresh as possible to maximise the possibility of a floating inside 50 which Larkey haphazardly throws one hand at?

He gets a bit of a rest when Simpkin and Parker go in.

The point I was making was more about why we can’t afford to play 2 blokes in the midfield that only play 60%. That was with just one.

I reckon Zurhaar could pinch-hit. He can actually run a long way now, though whether he's suited to the repeated explosiveness of the midfield is another question. Curtis another when he gets back from suspension, though really, the ideal situation would involve around three Curtises so we don't lose any forward line firepower

I’ve seen both those blokes doing midfield drills in the past when I was able to get down and watch training.

For a coach that likes versatile players- clarko doesn’t throw the magnets around if things aren’t working.

Every side has AT LEAST one other who can chop out the sides best mid.

We have none who can pick up the slack.

For real... It was frustrating watching Collingwood last night and how well they weathered and responded to the real-time challenges that Freo would throw at them. Dockers didn't really have any answers after the Daicos tag was removed from the centre.

That’s where Wardlaw a) getting his fitness up to scratch and b) staying healthy is vital. He’s the one that can be his dynamic sidekick.

Was only a few years ago we had LDU, JHF, and TT who we hoped could share the burden.

He and Curtis are the big bodied players we have to use in there ad hoc and zip.
