I hate to sound like Nostra but there is absolutely no footy metric that any reasonable person could look at and say they would drop Philips over Scott after watching last weeks game. It's pretty difficult to play two pure midfielders who have low TOG in an era of capped interchanges

Am far from convinced that some of our other mids getting higher TOG actually play with enough intensity or run enough to deserve the number of minutes they get. Most of them do SFA defensively on the spread and around stoppages (Wardlaw literally runs past them while they stand around). The supposed TOG limitation is just an excuse Clarkson and the club keep using to drop Phillips. All of LDU, Powell and Parker looked like they were in quick sand in the last quarter against Essendon.
