I hate to sound like Nostra but there is absolutely no footy metric that any reasonable person could look at and say they would drop Philips over Scott after watching last weeks game. Don’t give me the different positions nonsense. We have 4-5 blokes that play wing and we now have zero defensive first mids. It’s yet another rubbish decision by the club.

Pretty simple, Wardlaw is back, Will and George can only play about 60-65% game time, both pure mids, can’t afford to play 2 mids that can only play that amount of time, it would hurt the other mids impact that have to carry the load and Wardlaw is by far the better option.

Watching the VFL last week I would not have expected either Logue or Corr to be ins, even on an extended bench. Why did they get dropped in the first place?

Yeah well I don't think of that as punishment per se, just people management. I saw nothing in that VFL game to suggest they were up to AFL standard. They were both still shit, this time at VFL level.

I think we're just talking semantics. I'd see punishment as a disciplinary action. Maybe Corr and Logue see it as punishment, but from a selection perspective I would have thought it's just a matter of "You're not good enough, you need to improve".
I saw no improvement from either of them last Friday.

Where did this notion that WP can only play 60% of a game come from? Just because that's all Clarko wants to give him doesn't mean that's all he's capable of

Corr has driven me mad for many years. Logue gets injured too often to annoy me that much.

Sorry to nit pick (I have been drinking a Barossa shiraz) but Warlord being more efficient than Scott is damming with faint praise.

Agree without any reservation. We are terrible but Xerri and Warlord have a dip.
When Brissie were crap Darcy Gardiner was the centre half back and he would give away a few silly frees every week but he played like his life depended on every contest.
We don't have enough Gardiner's and these sorts are what we need at the moment.

Agreed, his best footy for mine was in 2023. He can play more but the coaches don’t trust him.
