We’ve played our best footy for the year with Trengove in the ruck.

Neither do I believe guys need to be playing AFL footy to be developing. English needs gym time as much as anything. He’s going to be a machine.

Trengove has earned his spot and should be our number 1 ruckman until English takes it from him.
Richards and Naughton seem to be ok developing in the AFL.Agree to disagree.

First time we’ve doubled up vs Carlton in a season since 1937 ...
Interesting stat but it's wrong, even if the general thrust is correct, ie that the AFL don't normally give us two H&A games against Carlton for reasons we can be justifiably paranoid about.

Since 1937 two H&A games were played against Carlton in
1939
1940
1944
1945
1947
1948
1950
1951
1952
1954
1956
1957
1959
1961
1963
1964
1966
Every year from 1969 to 1987
1989
1990
1992
1995
1996
1998
1999
2000
2002 ... then a 15 year gap until ...
2018

As far as I can tell we have never met Carlton in a finals game.

If Lynch is in the side to play forward then he may aswell not play.

If he does play and play forward he will be the second least effective player on the ground behind Cameron Polson.

How Polson has managed 10 games this year and averaged 6 possessions even in that Carlton side is beyond me.

Now watch him kick 6 including the game winner after the siren.

Our biggest winning margin against Carlton is only 59 points and our highest score 142. It would be nice to knock both of those over this week.

It's also our equal longest winning streak against the Blues (4) so another win will put us in the clear as the longest winning streak. The other time was in the mid-1980s.

Has to be higher than 59 points.

I was exaggerating :)

An unskilled Honeychurch you say? So basically just a regular Honeychurch?
Honey-Church ScragCity don't leave out the hyphen, I added the hyphen last week and BAM best on ground in the VFL.
Once the club realises they have another potential hyphen on the list they will move quickly with a long term deal.

Obviously so the Eagles can get a good look at him!
Yeah, and looking at the list it wouldn't make much sense for him to be recalled. With only Cordy out so far and Wood taking his spot, I can't see how we could fit Trengove, Roughie (who are both listed on field) and English all in the same side.

Only Wood for Cordy.

Looking forward to seeing how Trenners goes as 1st ruck again. Been very impressed so far. Should have been playing him there much earlier rather than at full back.

Isn't it about time this forum had a representative on the match committee?

I only have the wisdom of hindsight. But were others here calling for him to be #1 ruck? I can't remember, it may be so and they would appear vindicated.
