Perez with an 18month ACL and no return date.

Grouse.
Pretty normal for clubs to be super cautious about 18yos that did their knees in their junior years. Riley Garcia and Brodie Kemp are in the same situation and they're both listed as indefinite on the Bulldogs' and Blues' injury lists respectively.

Good to see Maj might be on the verge of a return this week.
Hopefully he plays forward, as Brown needs some support without Larkey. Xerri has tried hard, but I’d be surprised if he stays in this week.
Bailey deserves another crack.
I was hoping Will Walker had a good game in the 2’s & would come in, but he is not mentioned in the report.

As much as I agree with you.. I think he has found his niche back there. He could become that skilful dashing defender, we’ve been crying out for.
So much of the modern game is set up from behind the ball, I think I would prefer him to grow in that role.
I mentioned previous, he reminds me of R.Shaw when he was playing defence.
Leave Lmac to play the tagging role. It’ll be a win/win. As Hayden’s disposal is better.

Considering how allergic our medium defenders are to boldly moving the ball forward, skillfully may I add, your argument for Hayden staying there is pretty bloody strong. As much as I think he could be a huge asset in the midfield it becomes an issue of are you robbing peter to pay paul. Our midfield is utterly ****ed right now, but how much worse would the ball movement, and ground ball winning, in the back half be if we moved Hayden?

Personally not a massive fan of throwing kids around from position to position either, save that for when they've got 50 games AFL experience under their belt and have played and trained a lot with all the other blokes in the team.

Hey mate , we know we’ve a beauty in Perez and we ain’t taking a Ferrari bush bashing.

Great by the club . Perez is working oh so hard off the field too . Has a hunger for knowledge of the game .
Is very keen to impress. Once in he I think won’t go out of the side .
Be patient mate .

Kemp did his knee quite a bit later than Perez. Perez did his knee at the start of the 2019 preseason training for Bendigo in late 2018.

Perez did his knee in early December 2018.

Kemp did his knee on the 22 July 2019 in school football.

Perez has already been out for 19 months, Kemp hasn't clocked up a year yet.

There's cautious and there's set backs, 19 months isn't just cautious, there must of been a decent setback at some point.

Great to hear that. There is a great story building here if he can get on the track at the level we all hope. North has shown a lot of faith - hope he does it.

Imagine having enough Ferraris in the garage that you could take one off road.

We pick one up and it’s so rare we just look at it and polis it for years.

Well at least we are polishing Ferrari's now, better than polishing terds and trying to get them shinny, as has been the case in the past.

If Maj is in does he go back and we throw Walker forward to try and straighten us up?

Would mean out: Xerri

I don’t see it happening as Walker has cemented his role as the second key defender but at a happier time he does have the ability to roll forward.

So hard to decide what to do this week. Think I'm going to go with:

Daw in for Brown
Ziebell in for Thomas
Scott in for Hall
Brown in for Xerri
Murphy in for Macmillan
Hall in for Higgins
Ahern in for Cunnington
Thomas in for Hall
Bonar in for Ahern
Macmillan in for Murphy
Higgins in for Ziebell
W Walker in for Thomas
Hall in for Higgins

That should do it.

Wouldn't be moving walker he and Tarrant are settled.... I'm not against daw going them back there as while * don't have too many talls he would be an imposing figure if he is lurking in the 50 ready to gobble up and entry.... but our need maybe greater forward and then push him back the next week when if larkey returns

I’m with you. I think Maj back or if forward plonk him in the square and get Brown doing the km’s upfield. Maj might blow up but if he’s anchored he should have the energy to still provide defensive pressure. We need guys like Zurhaar prowling and there would be an argument for giving someone like Atley a role strictly as a defensive forward.
